dang..my frame and everything looks exactly like your before pic...im definately interested in this stuff...how long did it take you to prep everything from start to finish like how long from when u started the project to done spraying...and last thing what did u prep it with...

Well, I did it all at different times. I did the top of the frame one day, then the sides a different day and the insides on another day...Then it rained, so I had to do it all over again but this was just a super quick skim the surface type of deal. After than it took me maybe 40 or so minutes of spraying after wiping the whole thing down with Mineral Spirits on a rag.

icic i told my dad im gonna do this to my truck whenever i get my cab corners and what done because what perfect time to do this the bed has to come off to do the cab corner repair why not do the frame at the same time

I just bought two quarts of POR15. looks like I'll be taking it back to the supply center and head to wally world for some bed coating!!! lol :metal:

Rock on! :metal: It got hit by it's first bit of rain today and still looks great...Actually, it looks better than before because it's clean now. =D

I used the last of my second can just to do another quick coat over the top of the frame and the sides. Tomorrow I'm buying two more for the inside of my frame and I'll hope that covers the bottom of the frame as well. If not I know one can will do the job on the bottom for sure.

Hey man, that looks pretty *****in'! I'm gonna have to remember that when I redo my redo, haha.

Not to turn this into a for sale, or whatever, but I have multiple exhaust manifolds for 6 cylinders, and possibly a carb, pending on what you want/need.

Shoot me a pm, or reply back to me. if you want, I'll take some pics of the exhaust manifolds.

I remember what it was like for me in highschool, which grarnted, was only 3 short years ago. So if I can help you out at all, I'd be more than willing to.

Lloks great, how did you prep the metal,everythime I use that truck bed liner from DC, it always flakes off.

You've got a PM on the way.

:ack: :ack: I took a wire wheel to the whole frame and after that I blew all of the loose surface rust and paint that the wire wheel took off down to the ground. Once I did that I went over the whole frame with Mineral Spirits and a rag. Let it dry out then painted it. I pray to god mine doesn't flake off haha.

Thanks for all the comments and compliments guys, it means a lot to me. I'm bout to go check on it real quick and snap a few more pictures for y'all and we'll see how it looks.

It's looking good all but one thing which was an error on my part I suppose. If you do use this stuff, make sure to clean around the head of any bolt you see because the rust from under the bolt will creep out and start consuming the paint it seems. Hopefully it's just discoloration and it's not rust that's coming through but I suppose only time will tell. It still looks great though!!! Heres a picture for you guys so you can see what I'm talking about.

You should feel lucky.
I'm glad it's coming together for you.
Hopefully those bolt heads don't spread the rust around, if it does, then i guess you'll have to take the bolts out to paint, then paint the bolt heads inside and out.

You're right about the dirty comment. That, and the "wiper washer" label - it gets 'em laughing everytime.

Haha, no more pics yet. The batteries went dead in my camera, but I'll see if I can coax one or two out of it.

Good news on the manifold, I got the old stud drilled out, and the hole retapped, so you can use 2 studs, as normal.

I just pulled the carb, and have to give it a once over, and make sure the linkage isn't all snafu. and then it's just about set.

Well you accomplished what you were after - 1286 views and counting.

Frame looks great. I want to use that stuff on the inside of my Jimmy tub.
