What size are these new wheels? Also how about the back spacing.
I assume the tire size stayed the same.

I am kicking around going with 20/22 combo.

What made you decide to go with an LS1 since you build it the other motor. No complaints the LS1 looks good.

Thanks
Marc

killer truck! I like how you've put together alot of before & after pictures. Makes for good viewing. Did you drive it with the SBC before replacing with the LS? I did not, so I was wandering how much dif. you noticed between power plants.

Re: Project Farm Truck

Marc - The new tire combo is

front - Rim 20x8.5 w/ 5.25BS
Rear - Rim 20x8.5 w/ 4.50BS
Tires are 245/35/ZR20

Kid - Yes I drove it for a year with the SBC. I came across a smokin deal on the LS1 so I jumped on it. The difference is like night and day! Probably the best thing i have done for the truck. I own a 06 GTO w/LS2 and I would compare driving my 52 to the Goat!!!

Junkman - Just let me know if you need any tips on your build. The best fun that i had was building my truck. Thats the reason why I bought my wife the 72 Blazer was so I could build it!!!!

One last question. What did you use to fasten the rod door panels? I have heard they suggest velcro but it does not hold the panels that well.

Thanks
Marc

I used those metal door panel clips. drilled holes in the plastic part of the panels and inserted the clips. You also have to drill holes in the doors to allow the clips to attach to the doors.

Really nice truck, and the green is just kicking.

Thanks! I probably changed my mind about a dozen times on what color i was going to paint it during the build before I finally picked the green.

1sik, I can't tell but did you weld up around the steering column...the horse shoe area in the dash? I am going to be installing the column in a few weeks and have been pondering the column drop and how to make that area look clean.

Thank You very much. I will post pics of the headliner and back wall tomorrow. The back wall they created it and covered it in leather. The headliner is a fiberglass piece (cant remember where I bought it) that is covered in leather with suede insert.

Yes, I welded that area up to clean up the dash.

Only that your doors stay shut.....:lol:Plus if you are shaving the outside door handles and going with aftermarket interior door handles, the bear claw latch is easier to work with.
