What's the best way to achieve a 5/7 drop? My only concern is the roads around here are ROUGH! I know it's not going to ride like a Cadillac, but I don't want to go to the dentist after each trip for filling replacement. I am also on somewhat of a budget. I can't afford an airbag setup right now. What kind of clearance issues would I encounter going that low with 20's?

2"SPRING DROP + 3" SPINDLE DROP = 5

OUT BACK FLIPKIT W/ CNOTCH AND A SHACKLE = 7"

You will only have ride quality issues if you start half @ssing the drop.

Thanks. Yeah that is why I am taking my time, and doing research to make sure what I want before I do it. That way it's not hacked up. That's not how I do things. My wife calls it Anal Retentive. I call it attention to detail!

The thing is I don't know if I want a slammed truck. I just like a little lower than stock, with a nice set of wheels and tires. Don't get me wrong I love slammed trucks, just don't know if I want this one to be that way.

Hi John, i'm bumping this thread in hopes of more pic's and info. I'm on the fence also, but ready to pull the trigger on something. I wanted the 18/20 combo also and I do have a 5/7 drop, just would like to see more pic's of the setup. Also stuck between Boss and Coy.:smoke:

I say go with 20 inch Coys all around. 18s in the front look funny unless the truck is slammed.

Your truck does look good and I will probally go 20's in all 4 corners.

Coy is telling me I need 0 offset for the 20x10's, do you recall what you ordered?

They were on the truck when I bought it. 20x10 with 5 1/2 backspace I believe.

John C, Here is a pic of my 85 GMC truck. It has 18X9's up front and 20X9's in the rear with a 5" drop all around. I'm very happy with the stance but to each their own. :D

I was planning on doing this just to get my front a lil lower because i dont have a "Z" or dropmember so it look funny(to me), when i slam the truck and the back sits lower than the front.

I bought Toyo Proxes 2 and the ride with the 20's is nice . A little stiffer than the 18's I had on the tan truck but not bad at all . Better than I was expecting .

It's really depends on the shape of the fender openings. If you look at 67-72 trucks they seem to look just fine with a mild drop and staggered wheel size. That's because the wheel openings are rounded.

Now look at the large rectangular shape that the 73-87's have. The front and rear wheel opening is long at it exaggerates the difference between the two sizes of wheels.

Scoti's truck still looks good no matter what...:metal:
