all i want right now is a 230 plug so i can start using my brand new welder..... bought it last monday and havent been able to use it cuz i have the wrong outlet and money went to bills this week.....sad thing is next week i get paid

Ive been acumulating stuff for about 25 years or so,owww it hurt to say that. So far Iv'e gotton a car trailer to bring new ''good'' stuff home on,and haul scrap stuff away on. A stake body dump on one off my trucks to aid in the same.A lift,used and older but very usefull and fully functional.Mig,ac dc stick welder,tig rig run on the dc side of the stick machine.Torches,sand blaster,a big slab of cement outside to blast on top of.A 2 stage 80 gallon air compreser,an old coats 20 20 tire machine,an older manual tire breaker/changer.Lots of hand tools wrenches and sockets etc. A plasma cutter would be cool but the next thing on my wish list is a cartisery,the other reason I put a big slab of cement outside my door. The way the economy is going I dont think it will be this year though.

Lets see on my next to purchase wish list are
TIG welder
bead roller
hydraulic tubing bender

I have have a pretty well stocked garage shop, and like everyone else I would love to have a lift I just don't have the head room for one....

I have been doing the same thing. gathering tools.... I used to use whatever i could find that would work, but now that i work for boeing as an aircraft mechanic, i realize the importance of having the right tool for the job. so thats the best advice i can give, just have the right tool for the job your doing. the only problem is.... its not cheap

A Bigger yard and a lift. Been turning wrenches for 30 years,, last 5 years doing studio stuff building cars and trucks motorcycles for movies

It's pretty easy and cheap to change the outlet. I want a lift it kills me to roll under and roll out from my truck.

An engine hoist is handy for moving all of the large parts around. I got one from Northern Tool for $200 and it came with an engine load leveler, which worked great.

A good air compressor is a must have, and if you are going to work on these old trucks, the first tool to get is an impact wrench. Next is a cut off saw and die grinder.

A good hydraulic jack, not one of those small cheap ones. And some good tall jack stands. That'll get it high enough to work underneath.

You will want at least one 4-1/2 angle grinder. More than one is good so you don't have to change wheel types. One for a cutting wheel, one for a wire wheel or sanding disc, maybe another with a heavier grinding disk.

A parts washer with real solvent in it. The washer is cheap, the solvent is not, but worth it.

A car lift, a forklift or bobcat(has more reach), cnc machine, those electric hoists that moves around the ceiling in the shop, tig welder, pipe bender, loaded matco toolbox, sandblast booth, paintbooth, kegerator lol

I need a garage. I'm closing the shop so now I'll need a place to work on my own stuff.
Other than that I'd love to get a good TIG machine to start playing with aluminum. A plasma cutter would be great, but my 4-1/2" grinder with cutoff wheels hasn't let me down yet.
Lifts are great too. Just look at my avatar to see just how useful they are for body off work.

I have a garage now, Its not big enough!! Does a shop count as a tool? I have most of the tools I need from my mechanicing days but theres always more I could use. My biggest thing i need now is room to put it all. Hopefully next year when i build my new house ill be building me a 30x50 shop to go along with it.

and tons of other cool tools I can't think or right now. :metal:

Like everyone says, (and I wish I had)

A billion hand tools
A media blaster
A welder (you have already)
A GOOD air compressor - one that you can run like three die grinders constantly with, at least
A press
And if you're going to be doing lots of sheet metal work, a brake and a foot operated shear
A mill/drill press
