Mostly a die grinder with a scotch bright pad and finished it off with some wet/dry sand paper on a sanding block.

My scanner killed some of the detail but this is what I hope to make it look like in the end.

Looks pretty solid - any rust to deal with?

I did a few things this weekend on the blazer. Basically all I really did was roll it out of the garage, take the top off, clean all the junk out of it and take a few pics.

Looking good man. I so wish it was Spring and not Fall... :waah:

I have a nicer looking Blazer bumper than yours on my Jimmy. If by some random chance you have a GMC bumper in decent shape I'll happily trade you.

Then I rolled it back in to start planning out my repairs for the body. The drivers side quarter panel has been replaced but was never finished so that's where I'm starting. A lot of the hardware is missing so I can move the bed side back and forth about 1/2 an inch. So I need to pick up some hardware and put in the under body supports.

Same here I'm not a big fan of the snow or the cold. I have a 67-70 chevy bumper on my GMC right now. If you want you can swing by and see if it will work for you. It just doesn't have the notches in the top for the signal lights.

Re: 2WD for the win!!!

Well I turned 30 yesterday and I still don't have this thing on the road. I've been busy with getting my yard ready for sod, raising kids, and other projects around the house that I haven't had any time to do anything on the blazer. But I hope that will change this fall I should have every thing wrapped up around the house by August and two of my kids will be back in school.

I do have a little update on the blazer though. My brother in law works at AAMCO and he is getting me a deal on a rebuilt 700R so I have that to look forward to.

I haven't even touched it lately:(. My brother in law passed away very unexpectedly in November and my whole family has been having a hard time with it. And its been hard to find any free time lately.

And thanks.

My main problem is right now is time and not having any. I really need to get my nephew to come over and help me out with this thing. He just turned 16 in January and its his dads fault that I fell in love with this body style of trucks. His dad had a 67 shortbed stepside 4x4 when I was 16 that I helped do alot of work on and I have been hooked on them since then. Kris I miss you brother.

Well after years of owning this thing I have finally found some time to get some real work done on it. Got the quarter panel off and found out why it is so warped the guy that put the gas door in it just over laped it on the quarter panel and just welded the hell out of it. So now I found a few rust spots that I need to fix and i'm going to redo any repairs to the body that the po has already done like rockers, cab floor, and bed floor. here are a few pics.
