wish i has a OD

Try 5.13's and no overdrive ;)

Even with 32" tall tires I am at 3800 rpm at 70 mph.

Overdrive is high on my priorities list but I drive mostly in the city and crawl around in the mud & snow so the gearing is great for what I do most.

With only 28" tires the 4.10's would be OK with the OD of the 700R4. I ran these in my Malibu with a T-350 and 28" tires and 60 mph was right at 3000 rpm. The 30% OD of the 700R4 would drop that to about 2000 rpm.

Pretty close.

The 88-up new body style trucks had 30-spline 8.5" 10-bolts but shared the same ring & pinion as the older cars & trucks with the 28-spline 8.5 so it is a nice upgrade if you are breaking the axles on the 8.5 rear end.

Plus they are wider, so they fill out the wheel well better and bring the front and rear track width closer. See nlped's build thread. He has an 89-98 rear in his truck.
