Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
New master cyl is on the way
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...pswfi292gg.jpg Exhaust will be put on next week - Hedman 2" primaries dumping into 3" with an X and Thrush turbo mufflers http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...pseeevvpwa.jpg Tank is in http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...ps8fhdeabf.jpg To the best of my knowledge, this is an Eaton rear. Disk conversion is visible by the wheel. Does anyone make a cast heatsink cover? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psjymlxpuw.jpg |

Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
Nice to see you back on the truck! Do you have a vid of the beast yet? I don't think anyone has a cast rear housing cover available for the eaton rear. I'm sure someone could make one though.

Very nice!

Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
Mind me asking, where did you happen to find that diff cover? Best to my knowledge and research nobody really makes anything for our Eaton.

Sorry, mate, I think I got the last one from their latest production run. Keep watching them and another will likely pop up. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psugzftjqw.png |
Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
Brought the truck home today. Now the labor of love really begins.
"Pete's Auto Glass", the shop nextdoor, is one of the retailers of flush mount and single piece side windows. I'm going to replace the roof and shave the driprails, then it'll go to Pete's. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...pslrakfvil.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psiqjleuxg.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psyel80yyx.jpg |

That rear end cover is awesome! I may have to get one for my k20 project.

Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
Did a colonoscopy of the rear end to make sure it in good shape. Confirmed a locker and 4.10 gears. Installed the diff cover and throttle return spring.

Very nice! I'm interested to hear how well the grill shell fits the fenders and hood.

Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
I removed all of the rotten wood bed and peeked back at the rear axle while driving. The axle wrap was horrible. It was twisting way up under acceleration. I'm counting on these to solve that problem:

Re: Suprachrgd82's 70 BB Longhorn fixxer-upper project
Any idea what parts they used to put disk brakes on the Eaton rear end? I wouldn't mind doing this on my Eaton rear.
Thanks, Quote:
