I wish I lived in Colorado with that truck.I love when we get these snows like out there.You`d love it,too.It`s not like up in the mountains where you`re on your own out there if you screw up.We have rolling hills,old dirt roads along creeks,through woods,and farmland.The roads around where I live are the last to get plowed.The hills are steeper with alot of creek beds.A neighbor up the road cut a road to build a couple houses back up this one hill in the woods.The recession has had it in moth balls for a few years.He doesn`t care and I run back through there to play.

It`s been since 2003 that we`ve had one close to this (more-28") and I love it.We should have some great mud this spring,too.:sexy:

Tim, are those bumper gaurds factory for these trucks or modified 73 up ones? Just curious because they look pretty cool on there and it got me thinking. :lol:

Those are the real deal from GM.They`re exactly the same as the later ones,except for the bumper contour of course.I really like them on a 4wd.I started putting them on after I outgrew the brush guard/fabbed heavy steel bumper thing.I started wanting a cleaner factory look as these trucks aged and I started going for the factory optioned trucks that I don`t go tear up.The guards give a tougher look while being pretty and factory.I can`t quite get behind them on my GMC,though.They compete with the grille or something.I bought the low-rise 67-70 guards and might try those and see how I like it.

Great pictures Tim. Reminds me of when I grew up in Montana. My dad was a rancher and owned a 67 and 72 to feed cattle, etc. He would come and pick us kids up at school if the weather was particularly bad. It would not be unusual for him to have a new born calf on the floor of the truck using the heater to keep it warm until he could reunite it with its mother in the barn. A different time back then, when ranchers weren't afraid of a little "crap" on the floors of their truck. Doug

That truck is no stranger to western powder.I bought it out of Colorado and it started out in Wyoming. Thanks or sharing that li`l tidbit...seriously.I love that stuff. |

Are those bumper gaurds hard to find? I'm assuming so. I might try to modify some for mine from some later style ones.

LMC has both versions of the bumper guards. The smooth chrome ones and the kind Tim has. Maybe some vendors here have them too, but I haven't checked. Pete |
