Re: '72 Chevy SWB, Project Driver

Got part of my shipment of parts, well most of it:bs: So far I've got a Tri plus right fender, front and rear chrome bumpers with brackets and a new battery tray. Still waiting on the small stuff I ordered.

I mounted up the fender to check fitment and the only issue so far that cant be solved by shims is the rear edge. No where near straight

I haven't looked very close as how the edge is made but when I do start body work on this truck, how do I fix that back edge?

For now I just painted it and am about to put it on.

man, i'm surprised to see a tri-plus fender that looks like it's off by that much. I've been way more impressed with Tri plus over any of the other brands of sheetmetal out there...

Some real progress today. Battery box cleaned up, painted and installed. Grill sanded with a few small repairs and then painted and installed.

Hey Ben,

I've been following your build and it's looking GOOD! I don't see any inner fenders. Do you have them?

Looks good, keep it up and when is Cruzin the Coast?

Roland

Looks like Crusin' is going to be October 3 - October 10 this year. I have great drivers side inner, and an ok passenger inner sitting here but I think I may pickup a new passenger side from Certifit for about $40. Thanks again Roland and everyone else!

FINALLY received the last of my parts on Friday! I've spent all of my free time this past week (not much) polishing the primer off my grill hoops and headlight retainers.

Thanks! I have two hoods.......neither of which is in good shape. Both have rust in the front lip and one is dented pretty good, I'm thinking I might use some fiberglass on one of them.

Hoops and benzels came with my front clip, but they were covered in primer. I spent hours sitting on the couch polishing that crap off of them.

Thanks! I think the pic makes them look better than they are.

Update: Inner fenders installed and I pulled all four wheels to clean and polish them a bit. Still could be much better, but I just wanted them clean. Also installed new plugs and wires. Hopefully once I get the bed repaired a bit I can atleast drive it around the block.
