They are like rats " they mess up more than they eat". We have had them steal a carburetor leave the hood up and rains that night.

WoW thats the first I heard of someone stealing a starter, Makes me wonder if they tried to take the whole truck but since you had the battery disconected maybe they couldn't get it started & they desided to take it off there..BUt how would somone know it was a BB starter isn't a small block starter different from a Big Block starter? My friend just got his car back from it being stolen it was gone for a couple of days. They took his stereo, spare tire, jack and they cut the Catalytic Converter right off, I hate a thief.

yeah, i was thinking about that too, i dont advertise with any emblems or anything that i have a 454 so im hoping they needed a SB starter but they got the BB instead!! suckers! sucks about your friends car, do you live here in the Valley too? my boss just had his cat conv stolen this week too!

I had a carb and valve covers stollen off a car once.... two batterys and a license tag ...

People steal wierd stuff sometimes.

man that’s ridiculous.... i remember seeing a write up somewhere on these forums for how to create a plate on the hood latch that allows you to padlock it, I’m diffidently getting on that for my next project.

x1000 for me! I left for Iraq 02-03 and came home with some money, bought a '71 swb 4wd super, had it for 3 months fixed it up, then parked it for sale. 3 hours later stolen and it was really close to my house. Insurance sent me a refund of $12.63 when I tried to file a claim and closed my account, thanks USAA ins., I tried to file a report and the sheriff said I had to wait 24 hrs, freaking hot I was! They found it about 3 a.m. on the service road in plain sight from their back door! It was stripped rolled and looked like they put chains around it to roll it over to get axles and such out..... shout dang!! $12.63?????? that is a beautiful truck, I also have USAA... why such the low payoff? I think usaa has my truck valued at $3,000 but i have well over...... well i stopped counting a long time ago... :banghead: and dont worry...........i would have cried to!!

In the 70's my dad tuned mx bikes and we had a garage full. some dumb ass (sorry) tried to pull open our garage door to do what they do, my dad hears some noise gets out of bed goes into the garage waits for the guy to get under our door, and beats the crap out of the guy! (never mess with a former boxer) they took the perp away K/OED in the back of a police car my dad has pasted on now. this post made me think of him so, thank you. Pat

That sucks man! My 70 CST was vandalized in the high school parking lot one morning! I was away from the truck for under 2hrs! They flattened 2 tires, stole my emblems, and keyed the side of it! I know who it was, but have never been able to prove it!

i know a friend of a friend of a friend... that actually stole a bed off a truck.. it was sitting for sale somewhere and they pulled up next to it with no bed on their truck, had a few guys lay under it to take the bolts off and just set it on their truck and put two bolts on and drove it home.. if i ever caught anyone steeling or trying to steel from me... whell lets just say they would look funny trying to run away with a boot hangin out of their a**

tom over on university should have the bolts for cheap... ive been broken into twice and i live on a private street. one of these days well all see somenone steel in sh...t at kick there as....

I personally have never been to Arizona, but I plan on moving there and a few people I know had lived in Phoenix and said the only reason they moved out here (Idaho) is because you can't own anything nice out there without it getting stolen or parts stolen off it.

Had my gas peddle and gas cap stolen from my Jeep CJ-7 years ago. Last year, little crackheads took the faceplate off my radio and my roadside emergency kit, out of my Cherokee, right in my driveway!

really sorry to hear about all the crackheads and everyones stories wish it wasn't like it is. i have found the best way to keep from getting stuff stolen off your truck is to make it look like it has already been stripped. :lol:

I had some parts stolen from my parts trucks out at my property.:m7: So when i brought in another parts truck, i had a buddy drop me off there and stayed over night. At about 12:30ish they showed up to check out what i had brought in, well the story i gave to the sherriff was they were running away and triped, i guess thats how they broke there hands. They could not wipe there own a:censored:for 6-8 weeks. Never had another problem once the word got out about what happens at my place.
