Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
What drop is on it in the pics on the trailer bringing her home? Do you have any shots of it aired up to ride height? Id like to see how those wheels would look with a static drop. I really like them but would rather run 17x9.5's in the rear of mine.

If I remember correctly, board member see ten has exactly the same specs on his front wheels and tires. I seem to remember his rear wheels being 17x9.5 too. He is static dropped 4/6 I think. I tried searching but since I'm not a subscriber I don't get too many results. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...n/100_3756.jpg |
Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Looks killer! I am not to far away if you need a hand sometime. I could also use some pointers if you are ever near the Trenton area.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Thanks guys! Unfortunately, things are pretty much at a stand-still for now. Waiting for funds to get a rebuilt caliper for the driver side, and then I can bleed the brake system. Trying to come up with other things I can do that don't cost money, but the heat and humidity have been keeping me inside anyways.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Today, with the help of a friend, I was able to get the Lokar cable shift linkage installed. It still needs adjusted, but it's in and works! Also took a look at some of the other things coming up. Tomorrow morning I'm measuring for drive belts and hopefully picking up a caliper for the driver's side. We'll see...

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Could you post some pictures of your cable shift setup? I'm getting ready to tackle that project on mine.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Frustrating day of trying to get things done. Got a caliper for the driver side and some belts. Belts wound up being too short (my first time measuring for belts). Had some trouble connecting a line, also did not like how the front braided stainless hoses fit at all. Now I have a half-bled master cylinder sitting in the garage leaking (thanks plastic fittings). Just nothing seemed to go right.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Well I've been sick as a dog since Saturday evening. Finally starting to feel a little bit better today. I do have pics of the shift linkage on the steering column. I'll try to get those uploaded today.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Here's the pics of the shift linkage arm installed. I had to push the column into the engine bay a little bit so I could mount the arm above that collar. My battery died after these two pics, so I'll try to get better ones soon.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
I had to push my column into the cab more to be able to get the Borgeson u-joints to not bind up while trying to get around my upper control arms on a camaro subframe that is in my truck. I'm hoping that I have enough room for my cable set-up. I guess I better test-fit it soon.

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Yes! I love pics of that truck. Keep em coming Alvin:metal:

Re: Ethel: The Legend Continues...
Great looking truck!! I absolutely love it!
Quick question for you? Do you happen to know the body color? I think it might be 1967/ 1968 light blue # 507. I recently found a 1967 GMC BBW in a junkyard with a 327 SB same color as yours. I can not quit thinking about the color. Good luck with your build. I will keep watching this one. Keith |
