That is a really nice looking truck. My buddy had the same color back in the late 70s/early 80s. Good times!

Here it is, mine are very faded. This is almost all original paint.

Your truck looks cool. That look captures the way Chevy/GMC combined 70s cool or 80s *****in' with utilitarian. A good sign or graphics shop could reproduce and apply those stripes for probably about 250 bucks. They can take their Pantone colors book out and find a close match.

I bought a '79 new like the one above. The hood was the dark brown. I saw other trucks with the hood stripes. When I had my '79 repainted because of the front fenders rusting out, I had the hood painted the cream color. I went to Chev Parts counter and asked for the stripe decals. Parts man said the didn't offer them in '79. That was an older option like has been said here. I bought the decals and installed them. It looked just like the truck above. I just bought a '77 two tone blue camper special now in 2018. It's going in for repaint. The hood color will be changed to the lighter blue and the stripes will be added. I can have the stripes custom made or have the painter paint them. Here I go again. Wonder if the yellow truck got it's stripes?
