2.5 inch exhaust with glasspacks and factory exhaust manifolds coming out behind the rear wheels with a 45 degree angle :metal:

Re: Where does your exhaust exit?
So, I've been following this thread, and planning my exhaust. I've got a 350, a/t, four wheel drive. Edelbrock 600 carb, intake manifold, and long tube headers.
Is an x shaped piece for a crossover going to make a difference? Is it worth it? It looks like w/out a crossover, I won't have to have any bends, and I can have it dump before the rear axle. But, if the crossover is going to help with power and or mileage... plus, where should I put it? There's not much room with all the 4x4 stuff under there... Also, is 2.5" big enough? I've read about some people running dual 3". I'm going to be using 2 glasspacks or something similar... something straight through, as long as I can get it... |
Re: Where does your exhaust exit?

Re: Where does your exhaust exit?
Mine is 4x4 exit same as TexasJeff. Would like to change it to straight out back. Gets annoying hearing it off of every car I pass

Mine exit on both sides behind the rear wheels. I lightened this photo up to make them easier to see.

Re: Where does your exhaust exit?
I have mine dumping from the dual cat-back, straight out the rear under the bumper, either side of the spare.
Hadn't thought about how much I'd dislike that for hooking up the trailer in the winter-time, though, it just gasses me out something fierce. Wishing I would have gone out behind the tires on each side instead. |
Re: Where does your exhaust exit?
I've got a 2.5" straight off the stock manifold crossover back to a 2 chamber flowmaster that's between the back of the tanks and the diff right next to the drive shaft. And when you go up a hill at about 2,000 rpms, you'd think the whole truck is about to resonate itself to peices. But it sounds awesome otherwise!
Daliaigh, everytime I see your "I am Canadian" signature, it makes me chuckle and reminds me of the Rheostatics for some reason... |

Stock manifolds, with 2 1/4 true duals. Flowmaster 40's. Exited behind the rear wheels on both sides. Angled some, they don't turn 90 but not as little as 45. lol.

Mine exits right in front of the rear tires. I'm running two Thrush Welded mufflers, true dual setup with 2 1/4" pipe, 4" chrome slash cut tips, and long tube headers. It sounds like a helicopter at takeoff, it's a really unique sound. Should sound even better once I put the big block in! |
