This truck has been my only vehicle since 1991 with a logbook documenting all significant work done with the date and mileage. I have logged a little over 263,000 in the 20 years since putting it back on the road for a grand total of 371,000 all on the original odometer. This spring I repaired some minor rust spots and sent it to the paint shop for some new color.......Capt. Roger

HOLY CRAP!!! :metal:

I Gotta hear the story behind that, $300?????:mm:

Re: Actual miles on your truck

I really don't know. I've owned it since 1996 and back then I was told it only had around *66,000. Right now it has *104,000 however I don't believe that to be correct. I think it was more like 166,000 miles when I got it and 204,000 miles now but I really don't know.

Re: Actual miles on your truck

Shows 13K. Questions arose when we tore it down for a frame-off. I had assumed it to have 113K but I feel that it may be 213K....however, when looking at the chassis before we cleaned it up, I came away convinced that maybe the 113K is now the right miles.

With odometers that roll over at 100K, and no paperwork evidence to back it up, it's only something to argue.

Actual 26K when I bought it now is closer to 30K. I knew the ranching family that owned it and when the old man died his son acquired it. The truck was used strictly for driving to and from feed store and around the pastures.

Don't let low miles fool you. A ranch truck is a well worn and used truck. :(

My '72 K2500 reads 61xxx, I think it's 161xxx. One of my neighbors has got a '72 K20 he uses as a ranch truck with only 520,000 miles as of last year. He still drives it everywhere. It's on it's 3rd motor that was worn out 50,000 miles ago.

Re: Actual miles on your truck

My "new" '72 K20 I bought from another neighbor has 209,738 miles. He kept track of all the service in the owners manual. The last entry says 209,195 miles.

My avatar truck is fully restored(every part) she has 8,345.09 actual milage on the new odometer since resto. Total milage on the chassis would be 200,000 /or better Im sure the old odometer went around a couple of times. cheers, Pat

Re: Actual miles on your truck

It shows 30k and something but I'd have to believe that is closer to 231,000 and something.
My uncle bought it from a car dealer friend when it was about 4 or 5 years old and drove it for 20 years and had the engine rebuilt once. I put another engine in it as the original had a rod out (it's under my work bench) and have driven it about eight years. That engine is pretty tired and the truck is getting a Cad 500 when the weather warms up.

118,700 actual mileage, but looks like less in a lot of ways....fortunately and due to good previous ownership.
I'm hoping to keep up the tradition.;)

Re: Actual miles on your truck

Mine was resdone in the early 90's and when I got it in 2001 it was showing 99,400 and now has 105,500 miles. When I first saw the truck in 1997/98 at our local car show it had a small block in it. When I bought it in 2001 it had the BB396 in it and the guy I bought from got it from a guy that owed him money and couldn't pay so he took the truck in lieu of the debt and sold the truck to me.

Re: Actual miles on your truck

bought mine in '03 so this is a guess.. the odom works and says 75982 and all the ball joints are the original.. so it could be 76k but who really knows.. and after I replace most of the drivetrain. it won't really matter..if it's 76k or 776k

Re: Actual miles on your truck

i know you said total miles, but my truck would hav had to come from the factory like it did. and my truck or the engine didnt come with a tag saying how many miles so i have 24 miles that i put on it LOL

Re: Actual miles on your truck

108XXX, but the last owner's son's wife applied for a new title when I bought it and I guess she didnt verify the milage on the OD. So she wrote down 80,000 (Not the actual mileage) So Now I have a title with that on it. Its exempt now anyway. Im thinking of setting it to zero when I finish. Never done it before but I plan to keep this one in the family, so it'd be cool to start fresh.

Re: Actual miles on your truck

I have over 300,000 on mine. It's never been wrecked with all the orignal sheet metal. It has the orignal rear end but the motor and tran are newer. The motor has a little over 200,000 on it. The truck had 89,000 when I bought it. It got the motor right around 100,000,.
The front grille front and back bumper's and side marker's are new.

the miles sound soooo low, currently i don't have a 67-72, but my 96 suburban has 272,000+ miles on it. I traded a 97 pickup a few years ago that had 72,000 in 10 years and no one could believe the LOW miles. Did no one drive the old chevys?

I've got just over 170,000 on mine. It is actually probably about 185,000 since for the first year and a half I had it the speedo gear in the trans was missing.
And of course it totally doesn't matter given how much has changed following the accident in June 2006.

Mine has been parked in the same driveway since 1970. Before the resto, it had just over 500,000 on the ticker. 456 since resto. Two rebuilds of the motor, same crank, block and heads!
