@ 67_C-30 - No offense taken, there is a lot of truth in what you wrote. I too have failed in completing a couple of projects over the last 10 or 15 years. I had a pro street '68 Camaro, a '54 Chevy 2 door sedan, and '37 Ford (fiberglass - YUK) none of which were "finished" before being sold. Through all of those cars I have really never had a vision of the completed project, but with this truck project I can see it finished sitting in front of my house. My original plan was for a '70 (my birth year) SWB with a big block, but two things changed. I really like the look of the 67-68 front sheet metal, so I am going to build my cab with the earlier sheet metal. The LSx motors, 5.3/6.0, make good power, get good mileage, and are very reliable so I am going to go that route. Other than those changes my vision for this truck is solid.

Now for the reason I was looking at the '68. Well, it is a complete truck with all of the little pieces and parts that nickel and dime you to death. So, I was contemplating getting the '68 to build as I go. Money is tight as I am retired from the Air Force and hadn't worked since Dec 2010, so my "disposable" income has been lacking. I recently got a gig and that will allow me to get back on my project. It may even enable me to buy the '68 and keep my cab too, we'll just have to see. I appreciate your opinion and thank you for sharing your experience.
