i havent measured the wheel base yet , but my box is cut down to i think 5 feet its quite a bit shorter--- the cop car chassis had a 4 link allready so taking the coils out dropped here right down--- i have rear bags in , need to get some shocks in -- and i can stick the box on and work on that next

Looks like some inspiration. Take a look of that frame. It sure looks like a wide body car frame of some kind.

air ride is in !!! im doing the front shocks next ,

the box is bolted on

i welded some new metal on the sides of the box

i still need a new tailgate this one is beat up

ill drive it soon!! tail lights,, headlights, fan shroud, i think if i can get it driveable , i will be very motivated to get teh body work done and painted!!

after i mow the yard , fix the deck ,... you know all that other stuff

I totally understand all that other stuff. I am lucky to get 2-3 hours a week now.. Lookin good though. You really cleaned up around the engine..

thanks!! lots of welding and grinding on the firewall , im trying to make a nice fun driver, car showdriver worthy but not trailer queen worthy. im not in to trailer queens, i want something different then every one elses. im prob only 1350.00 into this right now yes less than 2k in parts

i sprayed some enamel on it so its one color --- im thinking as a winter project really go after the dings etc and then base clear it , i still need to finish the hood

i made a tail gate tooo , i chopped the ends off my beat up gate welded 2 steel pipes in then covered it with some sheet metal and spot welded it i think i spent 50, bucks on materials i could have bought one for 225.00 repro, but i wanted a smooth one any way's and i like to build things

i did buy some carpet on ebay for like 144.00 i think my grand total in parts and supplies on this project is up to 1600.00 !!!! so laugh heckle jab i dont care this project will turn a profit if and when i sell it . my last truck i had 1000 hrs of labor and alot of money sold that one for a a huge loss. at 3950.00

i think a person can have a restored original truck thats cool for some, but for me yes!! i like head turners, something thats not seen every day.

heres how the bed is looking, i hinged a piece of plywood so it flips open. hinged by the t gate, i then got some tongue and groove car siding from menards 4.99 per piece, liquid nailed it and brad nailed it in , i still have to finish the edges and stain it, i think i spent 75.00 on wood and materials for the bed that puts me up to 1675.00 total dollars spent on this project.

heres latest pic i dropped it as low it can go , its pretty low considering i have 24 inch wheels on it

i am using a small part of the hood for now , i put the front bumper on and have my stupid license plate on , ill prob put a tinted cover on it or something at least no i cant get pulled over for it , it drive nice the 4.6 has plenty of power , i should get it weighed id bet its less than 2500 lbs

liking it, would like to see you finish out the hood like it was earlier in the thread... maybe some porterbuilt style hinges on the cowl..
