what size tires and wheels can you run with that low of a truck? front and rear. im wanting to do mine after i fix my front end if its on $340+alignment i might as well go ahead and if you could give me the right part #s and stuff for my truck that would help out alot to

by the way me and this kid are alot a like im 16 got my truck at 15 when i had my first job and my parents payed $700 for my 77 chevy c10 lwb and ive done quite a few things to it nothing major but id really like to lower this thing and get the stance and how long would it take im wondering because im a very busy 16 year old kid holding up 2 jobs and school and was needing to know how long id be without my truck and this would be my first time ever dropping a truck

This is where I bought my parts, free shipping. Depending on your skill level and/or help from others, and tools available to you will determine how long it will take to install. With experience Ive done it in about 5 hours with hand tools, and my neighbor did the same drop on his with no experience and took 2 days. Lots of variables to give you a good answer on that. There are tons of rim and tire options that will fit this drop, what combo are you wanting for your 77?

i currently have 15x10s all the way around with some stupid tires like 70 series and hate them i want to get 295/50-15s all the way around but i dont know if i can aquire that and my backspacing on those rims is 3.5in

what do you think? and what size drop will that give me in the front and rear? i like the idea of a 4/6 drop but havent seen it on a 73-80 model so im not sure what levels out

I would not recomend dropping that much with those wheels, you can do it but they will rub front and rear exessively. If you want to run 15in rims you can fit 295/50/15 in the rear on a 15x10in rim with 5in backspace no problem. On the front you can run 245/60/15 on a 15x8 with 4in backspace, I wouldnt go bigger than that in 15s.

The parts I posted in the link with cutting your front coils will net a 4.5/5in drop. If you want it more level add 2in drop shackles in the rear and maybe a c-notch.

how can aquire a 3/4 drop? i seen it in a thread before on a truck and looks nice and had no issues

Front, either 2.5in drop spindles or cut one round off of the springs for 2in.
Rear 4in drop shackles and hangers.
Thats probably as low as you want to go keeping your current rims.

I would save and wait till you have enough to do all you want and do it right. It is exciting to wait and cool when you have enough to do it all at once. Nice project.

If you realy want it lower than 2.5/4, I totally agree with mud man.

Basicly you have to grind off the rivits that hold on the hangers then bolt on the new ones, for the shackles they are a direct bolt on BUT you have to notch out the bed brace above it for them to fit.

If you have the longer springs (8 leafs usually, 56" overall length) you will NOT have to notch the bed crossmember. If you have the shorter light duty springs (52"), you will have to.

A word of advice ..just do a flip kit and be done with it. It is HIGHLY likely you will want to go lower in the rear in the future,
