Stopped by the shop yesterday and the front clip has the body work done and there is primer on it and the firewall. I ordered some porterbuilt hood hinges the other day and will hold off painting the firewall until I get them fitted.

Today, got the front suspension done. I am supposed to have the rear notch Wednesday and with any luck, I will have a rolling chassis by the end of the week.

I have been thinking of doing a dropmember on my other Burb now that I have a nice driver. Your sub it going to be sick! How are you going to do the floor out back?

Thanks! The floor....Im not that far along yet. I actually started taking the inner fenders out today. A lot more than meets the eye. Looks like I will end up cutting the factory ones out and putting new taller ones in. The center has to be cut out and I will probably just make up some kind of cover to go over it.

I have to give it to Nate at Porterbuilt. I know that his build time right now is running about 2-3 weeks. I called him last week asking how quick I could get a notch kit and he told he could get it out on Friday. I said perfect and I went ahead and ordered the hood hinges at the same time. I didnt expect to get the hinges for a while but everything showed up today.

If it wasnt already 105 degrees today, I would be starting on the notches. Guess I will get started early in the morning.

Spent the better part of the day getting the notches welded in. They are done and if tomorrow goes like I want, I will have a rolling chassis.

I have a roller now, well add front wheels and tires and I will. Got the back all finished up.

I think I might to ditch the drop spindles and go back to the factory ones unless I want to use 22s in the front.

Next will be getting the hood hinges fitted and getting the back floor cut out.

Got this idea to convert the back hatch to struts from Coboyle04.

The body is now at home on the chassis.

The floor and fenders are cut out. Going to have to cut a little more on the inner fenders, they are sitting on top of the tires.

I need to figure out how I am going to do the back floor. Obviously I need to cut out a section of the floor and move the inner fenders up just dont know how I am going to do it yet.

If you check out my build thread you can maybe get some ideas from what I did. Mine is the same build as yours (Porterbuilt front and rear).

I got some fenders that I am going to make work. They are about 3 inches higher than the factory ones. I may try and use the bottom of the factory fenders combined with these and bring them up as far as I can to the brace under the window, and then I will just have to make up some kind of cover for the notch and bridge.

My tires went all of the way up and actually touched the brace under the window. I'm not sure what size wheels/tires you're going to run but just something to think about. Good work by the way!!

Yea, I think using these fenders mated up with the factory ones will make it tall enough. What size tires are you running in the back?

My kids are in town this week and next week so I havent really had a chance to do any work. I went by the shop today and dad got the firewall painted.

I was originally thinking of doing the paint like this:

But after seeing this, I think this may be it.

Well, my wife likes the first one so I guess that is the winner. Think I will run the blue up to the bottom of the windows though.

Re: 72 Dropmember Suburban

What about blue up to the body line then white the rest of the way?
