I have a set of those. I'm on the fence about ditching them. I hate the look, but love the utility... They still have the wood grain in them, though it's faded a bit.

I know this is an old thread but I bought a '78 Longbed and I found a set of these rails in a bundle of trim parts just laying in the bed. I like the look and will be installing them.

he offered it to me but in all honesty, it was a bit more than I wanted to pay for a long bed. I was just looking for a straight shop truck. I a side note, I rebuilt the tilt column that is in his white Blazer

These were on truck when purchased is 2015. Woodgrain was faded so I remove it to show only aluminum and doesn't look too bad. Still on truck and will stay on.

Woodgrain is like new on mine. I think they were taken off early on and then thrown in the bed when they went to trade it in.

Still on mine I have thought about removing them before. That is original paint but don't let the pics fool you the tops are thin. On the fence to remove them when I have it painted.

I found some at my local junk yard but they were in the trunk of a Ford Torino so I thought they were Ford not GM. Did Ford and GM make different bed rails in this style or are they all the same? The one part number I did see was long with hyphens, so I assumed it was Ford so I did not get them. The bed rails looked to be for a short bed but were scuffed up. I probably should have picked them up though.
