Are your drums still riveted to the hubs?

I still haven't upgraded to self adjusting brakes.
Today I tried to adjust my front brakes, but on the passenger side I couldn't get the star to even turn.
So I took the wheel off to remove the drum, and I can't get the drum off.
Tomorrow I'll try some PB Blaster Penetrating Oil. Maybe after a few days later I'll be able to loosen them enough to get the drum off.
I figured if the star adjuster is frozen, I had better look at the shoes.

These kind of posts make this site the valuable tool it is.

I have been lamenting the lack of self adjusting brakeson my 66, but had not put any thought into changing it.
Then I see this post, with not only some testimonial, but a parts list for the job.

FANTASTIC!

That's a good question.
I'll have to check.

Re: 1962 Brake Question

Got all my parts assembled and will do the conversion this week. Looking forward to the auto adjusters in the rear.
