Why did you have to use a spacer at the rear?? Also are the tires and wheels turning without rubbing the fender well??

SCOTI 07-03-2003 10:01 PM

Why the spacers? Well . . ..... I'm a cheap f**ker. When I spend money, I want it to go a loooooooooooooong way. So, I bought the wheels in a car pattern w/the correct offsets for most GM's so if I get a chevelle, GTO, or camaro on down the line, they'll bolt right up or if I need to sell them I've got a lot more potential for buyers (plus they were originally for my 67 which has a car pattern).

Oh, just the rears use spacers. The front rotors are machined/re-drilled.

So the 5.25 backspacing is correct for the truck??

SCOTI 07-04-2003 12:08 PM

For the front, yes. That is the same 'front dish' that would be on a stock 7" corvettte ralley. The back spacing on a 7" ralley is 4.25 so I just had to add an inch to the inside measurements.

I've seen alot of people lately using longer upper arms (ex:Turners) to correct alignment/shim issues, but I try & keep the track width as close to stock (narrow as possible) because I hate it when the tires scrape the outer fender lips while turning. On my 67, the lower arms have the balljoint area sectioned & moved in about 3/4.

Hhmmmm . . .... that's cool. I could live w/both of them in my driveway. But . . ..... which one to drive?? It would be tough to decide every morning :D .

Bumper brackets

SCOTI I have some brackets if you want em. I have an extra set just sitting here. I am hauling the truck (or whats left of it) to Mississippi on the 18th. If you want the brackets you can pick them up or just pay for the shipping. :metal:

SCOTI 07-06-2003 11:10 AM

Thanks.
