No I didn't build the truck in post 16 but am doing the exact same chassis swap by using a Caprice frame

The clip job was an ugly one done over 25 years ago

Now that the cab is on the dolly, we can start getting rid of some rust

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
Congrats on getting the cab off! Never seen a clip installed like that before.

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
That clip job looks pretty gross. At least it's still complete!

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
the previous owner set the ride height the same as it would have been from stock. It's heavily welded and he drove it like that for more than 15 years. Ugliest clip job I've ever seen. I'll be cutting the plates off and keeping the clip. Might even install it into my shop truck next year, we'll see

Donor car, this is what we will be using for the rolling chassis under the truck

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
any update, very curious....

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
we have actually decided not to build this truck and are starting to sell off the pieces we have collected for it. I picked up a 27 model T roadster to build instead

Re: 58 GMC Fleetside Beulah
Bummer, disappointed to hear, good luck with your build
