It's going to be a while before I actually fire it but it's just cause I still have a lot of expensive stuff left to buy.

If I wasn't going all out with this thing and could get out a little cheaper on the stuff I have left to buy I could probably have it going pretty quick. I'm hoping to have it on the road in a year

Hard to tell in the pic.. looks like the down pipe is going outside the frame rail? Which that will work..

No it goes on the inside between the frame and the motor.

What size is the dp?
How's it going to tuck between the heater box, frame and manifold or do you have to pull the heater box?

Re: Bolt on Turbo Kit for LS swapped OBS trucks

It is 3"

It fits just fine. You will have to use some 90* fittings off the heater core and run the heater hoses to the passenger side fender to keep them away from the heater. There's plenty of room for the crossover to come in there along with the down pipe.

I'm going to be running a 4" on mine and that will be a little tight but still fit. I have seen a 5" on another guy truck but he had to notch the cab to get it in there.

Sweet. I wish this had been available before I dumped 3k into having my hot/cold side fabbed up.
I have a 5" on mine and had to pull the heater box entirely. No way it was going down there with the box still in.

Eh, it's all stainless, T6 and looks amazing. I don't mind paying for quality.
I knew I'd be going for 1k+ once it gets a good bottom end and trans so no reason to skimp now to do it all over again.

Did that price include the gates, bov, or intercooler? Just curious. I might need to get into this business. lol.

The A/C brackets are now available through lsbrackets.com

Re: Bolt on Turbo Kit for LS swapped OBS trucks

Kwik Performance has a similar bracket that tucks the compressor in close to the engine. I just ordered my vintage air system with that bracket. I believe it uses a smaller compressor too.

Credit to Wasted Income, I got the idea on his build thread.

Re: Bolt on Turbo Kit for LS swapped OBS trucks

Yea that Kwik bracket is sweet. I wish that would have been available when I built my hotside...because it doesn't fit on the blazer by a very small amount one of the crossover pipes interferes with the compressor pulley....so it ended up on the K/10. lol. Here's a couple pics for anyone considering buying it. It does use the same compact Sanden SD7 that the Vintage Air Front Runner and March Performance FEADs use.

Re: Bolt on Turbo Kit for LS swapped OBS trucks

They do and lsbrackets.Com has other brackets for both the r4 compressor and the Sandeen but these were specifically designed to work with the turbo on Tricks log manifold. This one was designed to use the r4 because that is what the majority of the 88-98 trucks had factory.
