Nice pics CustomChevy. I wish I could say I had some to share with you too. I spent a lot of time cleaning my heap, then catching up on BS with the boys. By the time I got around to taking pics, it was crowded and hot. Blaaahhh!

Scoti, just think how nice your truck is going to be this time next year. Your going to draw a crowd with it all day long if you do all the things that "we" have planned for it. Now go get that checkbook and get started. Bags are first, then?????

It appears that he got you and Ken rolling in on one day. Isn't that you behind him in #14. And by the looks of #18 it must have been Sunday when you were in BFE.

SCOTI 07-25-2003 10:36 AM

Actually both were late Sat afternoon after you left. The pic of me behind Ken was on our way out (we didn't get far) & the other was when I parked directly across from him (that's prob why the pics of mine were taken, it was a location thing, lol).

It is a cool pic though. I was going to try & find a good place to get a couple of pics of the 2 together for prosperity but by the time we were leaving I was mentally drained & forgot . . ....

lofat 07-25-2003 11:18 AM

nice pics - thanks for sharing.

Hey SCOTI, sure is good to see you finally have a vehicle in a show after all these years. Truck looks killer. It is a shame to hear that "scotluck" -tm- is still alive and well.

Great pics wish I would have gone, maybe next year.

matt

swervin ervin 07-25-2003 12:47 PM

Nice trucks. I love it. :)

Jonboy 07-25-2003 01:23 PM

I agree!

bigblock73 07-25-2003 01:41 PM

WOW, some nice rides there! I really like Scotti's truck as well as n2trux...both look fantastic.

What do you two have planned in the future for your trucks??

...Jeff

SCOTI 07-25-2003 02:23 PM

Notched front crossmember currently in the works, maybe fresh coat of paint (w/white inside the trim??) after welding up some holes, tailgate handle flip kit, bags, fresh windshield & door glass w/weatherstip to match, interior, motor (383 hyd roller cam AFR heads), OD trans, late model serp conversion. I could keep going.

Keep in mind I'm still working on my 67 as well (or supposed to be anyway). . ..... I WILL NOT give up on that one! Ken also still has a ways to go w/the blazer, but it will be worth the wait IMO.

Thanks MattA. Glad to have you around. You should post some pics of your truck here or in Gen Disc & introduce yourself.

Could you guys tell me what year the grills are that are on #3, #6 and #10. I would like to put one of those on my 84 if possible. Thanks for the pictures. I was in Austin that last weekend and did not get a chance to go....damn women.

Those are 88-91 GMC 'Burb/Blazer/Dually front ends.

Cool trucks, thanks for posting the pictures!

brad2 07-25-2003 07:27 PM

I looked at a lot of heatwave pics but most of these pics are new to me. Thanks.

I thought we already got the paint issue straight.

Guy's, tell him he needs to repaint it just like it is now. If you do the standard two-tone, it will look...uh ...well...standard looking. There's nothing wrong with that except you have a unique two-tone for your year model. Take advantage of it.

Ok, so you need to take the 67 over to Stoked Out Specialties and set your time frame/budget plan on a nice consistent pace. Then go get busy on the 74, and lets go hit some shows and cruisin....

CustomChevy 07-25-2003 11:14 PM

no problem guys &gals, i finally had a chance to go to Austin to visit my mom, then heard on the radio that the show was that weekend. Great timing!!

I have some more photos, but these were all the 73-87 pics I had taken. Glad you all enjoy!

SCOTI 07-26-2003 03:44 AM

N2TRUX, I still have some credit w/the guys in Rowlett so one of these days my 67 will get some attention (when it's my turn of course).

As for the colors . . .... ask n2billet what his recommendations were/are....

As for the colors . . .... ask n2billet what his recommendations were/are.... He and I discussed it quit a bit while riding behind you heading for the show. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think we both agree that the scheme should stay just like it is. At least that's what gets my vote:p

Hhmmm, seemed like he said the red/white down the side would make it stand out more? I'll have to ask.

I will admit after seeing the original dealers add for these trucks that had w/my particular color scheme, I could leave it as is.

N2TRUX 07-26-2003 02:01 PM

Well either way would look good. I just think that it looks cool now, so I would do it the same way. Keith does have a good eye for color though. When I first saw the trim on my 77, I considered changing it. He freaked out, and told me that the color "made" the truck. After spending time with it, I agree...but don't tell him...;)

SCOTI 07-26-2003 08:08 PM

Well my plan originally was to weld up the mirror holes & shoot between the trim in white 'cause it's more forgiving. Then Keith/Roger started talking about shooting from the lower trim & down to fix the small rust accumulations. This stuff 'kinda escalates no?????????????????

No, it turns into a freakin avalanche in the blink of an eye. The sad part is, it just doesn't end either.

I agree about fixing the problems before they explode. A year ago it had almost no rust showing, no look at it. Get your patch panels ordered, and get that thing rock solid again....

Captkaos 07-28-2003 12:39 PM

SCOTI,
My vote it to leave it as it currently is. This is coming from someone that LOVES 2 tones. I like the paint scheme on it currently. My vote it to redo it as-is.

Yeah, what he said. I agree, follow the KISS rule (keep it simple stupid). :)
