The build is looking good and man am I jealous of the space you have acquired. I have a couple questions regarding locating the cab mounts. Do you have the dimensions you used to locate your cab mounts. I have a 54 as well and I have heard that these are slightly different than the earlier models. Are the front mounts 2-1/8" in front of the oval hole? Are the rear mounts 10-1/4" behind the 5/8" round hole as shown on other builds? Do you happen to know what the distance is from the front mount holes to the rear mount holes? Thanks!!!

I haven't been able to get to the truck for a few months, so the progress has come to a screeching halt. Between buying a small farm that has needed some TLC and my father in law having some things stored around the area I work on the truck, we are also expecting a baby next month. Hopefully the baby's grandparents want to see him often, so I can have an excuse to go work on the truck. One of the things I have gotten done is move the 1995 Chevy Van down to their place to get ready for stripping the 350 out to use in the '54.
As a side note, I have gotten some good stuff going at my shop in preparation for moving the truck home so I can work on it a little more frequently. I bought a 60 gallon 5hp Single Stage Air Compressor off Craigslist for $50. The motor wouldn't start, but the tank is in great shape. I spent $136 to fix the motor and now it works like a charm. (the picture is before I got the Air Compressor moved into the shop and hooked up) I also was able to get a Matco 1/4" drive Air Rachet , a Blue Point 3/8" drive Air Impact, and a 50' Goodyear air hose all for $40 on Craigslist. I should have gotten the Air Hose Reel the guy had for another $40, but it was bolted to the wall and he couldn't get it down. Most of what I have gotten done (indirectly for the truck) has been getting the Air Compressor set up for use with the air tools and paint guns. Also,since my toolbox and all of my tools are down at my in laws place, I was needing to get some tools at home. My Grandfather had passed away two and a half years ago and neither of my uncles needed the tools, so I was able to get a hold of those. Along with the tools, I got a Kerosene heater, so now I can heat the shop up on the real cold days.
Hopefully after some more adjustments to life with a newborn and getting the shop up and going, I can get back to work on the truck and eventually get the rolling chassis moved so I can get it wired and start on the bodywork.

I finally got the cab test mounted on the frame this weekend. Everything looks good so far.

I also wanted to put a picture of my newest acquisitions. A 1963 Farmall 560. This was my Grandpa's tractor (my dad drove it home from the dealership brand new) My time is currently getting split between the truck and the tractor...and our 4 month old son, Henry.

Good looking project. I to have to split my time among my family, home, and truck so it's taking a while to get done. Wouldn't have it any other way though. Keep rolling with it!

Great truck project and being raised on a farm I love the tractor! Same family since new...cool. Son is very cute.
