I'm running AV plates, legally you are just allowed to drive it to car shows and to test it mechanically, its a lot cheaper for the plates and insurance but since its a truck I am going to have to rethink that one.

My 64 is my daily driver. Roughly 10 miles round trip from the house to base and back. Maybe a tank of fuel every two weeks or more. Depends on what else is included in my trip. Lol.

I drive my blazer on nice days. It's pretty thirsty (hard to keep your foot out of it...) but by the time I either pick up or drop my daughter off at daycare, it's about a 60 mile round trip. On the REALLY hot days, or days when the weather is cruddy, the Denali is on DD duty.

My 65 was my daily driver for over 20 years, roughly 35 miles round trip. I parked it in the fall of 2008 to replace all the rusty sheet metal. I tore it down and got a lot of it done but due to cutbacks at work my income took a big hit and my truck budget went from small to nonexistent . Here it is 2014 and it is still in pieces.

I had planned on mine being daily driven but after the frame off resto I could not insure it as such and it is too nice now to drive daily anyway .

Re: Drive Your Truck To Work?

I drive mine very chance I get. It rides rough, it's loud and hot or too cold because it has no AC or heater, it's hard to turn in parking lots, and hard to stop for lights, and I can't go past a gas station without stopping but I love it. If I had the money to upgrade everything I wouldn't drive anything else.

Once I get home and restore mine it will be my daily driver.
