Re: Will 1987-1991 blazer fuel tank work?
Does anybody have the part number of the sending unit? I plan on putting one of these in a Suburban that I am doing a LS swap on. I would guess that the sending unit is the standard 0-90ohm?

how can one find out which sending unit you need ? I know there is 2 inch difference from 25 to 31 gallon tank, do you measure from the pan or from bottom of the inside

Bringing this back up for information on the connections to the in tank pump. I don't want to run AN fittings. Looking for either a barbed fitting for EFI rubber hose or possible the newer style nylon fuel line.

I installed this tank in my 72 with AN Fittings. I bought the sending unit from rock auto. They had sending units that used barbed fittings as well.

Re: Will 1987-1991 blazer fuel tank work?
It's likely the ohm on the sender. Here's some good reading.

Filler neck hole is on the correct side for the first gen k5. I need a tank in mine and would like to go ahead and get a bigger one that would work for a further LS swap but could also work for now with my stock 72 motor and fuel pump. Anyone know if I can buy the stock 96 fuel pump/sending unit then pull the fuel pump out and replace it with a piece of fuel line. Rely on the 72 fuel pump then, to suck from the new tank just like it does with the older set up. That way I could go back to the in the tank pump when I do a LS swap later? |

What size is the filler neck on this tank?

Re: Will 1987-1991 blazer fuel tank work?
After doing some measuring the 92-96 tank won’t fit. It’s too wide to fit between the frame rails. I measure the width between mine at 27 1/4”, the stock tank and the 87-91 tanks are a little wider than this but only with the flanges. Guess it’s back to the 87-91 for me and having the filler next swapped to the other side on the tank or turning it around.

1 3/4" looks to me. You measure the diameter below the ridge though, least I do with a caliper
