I have to revive this old thread.
I'm using aluminum 3/8 fuel and return line for my EFI.
How do I go from the straight 3/8 hard line to a -6an fitting?
Part #s if you have them please.
Thanks

OK, thats awesome thank you.
Pardon me for this but I want to make sure I get it right.

I read that no flare is required for this fitting, true?

Will this handle High PSI? I believe my intank pump delivers at 100 psi.

Re: Fuel line recommendations

Yes, this compression style adapter fitting can be used in EFI applications - up to 250 PSI.

Earl's Performance AT165006ERL uses a compression fitting to lock onto a 3/8 inch outer diameter smooth tube. If the tube you are attaching this to has a barb or a nipple on the end to help hold on a hose, you will need to use a tubing cutter to remove that nipple. Once you have a smooth tube you can slip on the nut and the feral and tighten it down.

Thanks a lot MJminino,
I've been searching for this answer. I originally was going with a carburated setup but switched to EFI. I already bought the 3/8 aluminum tube and didn't want to have to buy braided lines all the way back to the under bed tank. You just saved me a bundle, merry christmas.

Re: Fuel line recommendations

Sorta off the subject, but relevant to the thread title...

The fuel rails on these engines can be turned around 180 degrees. This puts the fuel inlet on the passenger side facing forward. I'm going to be running 3/8 stainless hardline on the inside of the passenger side chassis. This hardline will be terminated in a -6AN tube sleeve and nut, and a 37 degree flare. I'm using a -6AN (or JIC, they're the same thing) bulkhead elbow fitting. This will go up through the top flange of the chassis, and a locknut is installed to secure it to that top flange. From here, it will be a quick simple hop with AN hose up to a fuel rail adapter fitting on the fuel rail itself.

Routing the hose this way keeps that flex hose up near the front of the engine where it's easier to access for inspection and replacement. I won't have to be digging around on the back of the engine, trying to unbolt a fuel hose clamp from a bellhousing bolt.

Keep in mind that this is on a 4wd truck. It's possible the 2wd trucks don't have a clear spot on the chassis in the right spot to install that bulkhead fitting.

I have not run fuel line yet
I am looking at nylon fuel line many factory rides have nylon fuel line
Might even mix it with steel lines
Going to see how my parts truck lines are run

This is an example
Summit has Dorman lines and fittings

If you're intending to run nylon line up the back of the engine, make sure your engine is far enough forward to do so comfortably. Mine is not. I put the LS into the stock position(14" from bellhousing to rear of clamshell) on a squarebody truck. It's within an inch of the firewall.

Re: Fuel line recommendations

I am thinking use the factory flex line going up the back of the motor
Depends on how its joined and shape of it
Yes nylon lines need long slow bends not sharp tight bends

5 Attachment(s)
I used Summit teflon braided lines from the tank to 3/8" aluminum hard lines inside the driver side frame rail to the filter...
then teflon braided again to the pressure regulator......
then teflon from the regulator to the fuel rail
I flared the aluminum for 37º -6 AN fittings using Eastwood turret flaring tool

put a junction here in case I need to drop the tank
Attachment 2070828

ordered some industrial tube clamps to secure the hard lines
Attachment 2070829

Aeromotive replaceable filter housing
(not as close to the exhaust pipe as it looks in the picture)
Attachment 2070830

teflon braided lines to the Aeromotive regulator
Attachment 2070832

Fabbed a bracket to bolt to the head
Attachment 2070833
