Few more pics. The underdrive pulleys did not line up correctly with HB P/S pump, so the OG ones were blasted and painted.

Once the engine was level, I determined the trans mount need to be spaced up 3".
I basic but clean mount was built .... |

This truck came to us with a 2' foot extension on the chassis.
Some ideas were tossed around with Jon regarding this situation. We went from shortening back down to except an 8' flat bed or long step. Just recently, Jon scored a 12' flatbed for a good deal, so the frame will remain as is. However, it currently has TWO center bearing crossmembers that are far from perfect. We will get a measurement from Yoke to Yoke for driveline. Then contact our driveline shop, and he will let us know where the exact location of bearing should be. From there, a new driveline will be built, as well as a new crossmember (one of the OG ones will be relocated, and reused more than likely) |

He came by to check on it, so I mocked up the bed on some lumber, to set the height exactly where he wanted it ..... |

The underside end of the flat bed (hitch attachment) will have to be cut away, and bed moved forward approximately 5" ....
The hitch area will then be redesigned to attach to the chassis. There is some previous hack work done to this bed in that area that will have to be addressed before I can put my name name on it ... ;) In the end, this will be my kinda truck for sure !! |
