So here she is lowered! I am really happy with the way it turned out! :metal: I'd like to see the rear end come down an inch or so, to level it out. So we'll see after it settles and I get new tires where it ends up.

Well how about some updated… I now see how easy it is to let months pass without posting anything! Not a lot has happened in the past several months. A few minor items have been addressed, but mainly I have been parts gathering, planning, and fantasizing about everything I could do if I had deeper pockets!!!

So first up, I had my bedsides shortened and installed those. Funny how life works, I tried three times to make it down to my dad’s (where my bedsides where located); first time I just couldn’t make the three-hour drive in 20-degree weather with no heat. :waah: Second time I spent most of the day broken down on the side of the road. Bad distributor is what we caulked it up to, but I did get a new to me HEI installed, new wires, plugs, etc. so that was a blessing in disguise I guess. And the third time my fan clutch decides to fall apart. Luckily that was a quick fix and on the road situation. So the third time was the charm!

while we had the bed off I decided to make some temporary modification to my exhaust. After lowering it, the pan-hard bar was rubbing against the exhaust making for a noisy ride down the road. So we cut it off right in front of the rear end and dumped it to the ground using an already bent section of what we cut off. Fixed my initial problem, but sure made it a lot louder in the cab... :lol:

Your truck is really looking good. If it was me I would play around with some paint and see if you could possibly blend the bedsides a little. I think it would come out well. Nice progress and nice truck.

I had been having problems with my truck stumbling and idling rough at stop lights. Also some hesitation on initial acceleration. I read several post on Edelbrock’s sensitivity to fuel pressure so I decided to check mine. I was getting between 8 and 9 psi, so I decided to install a fuel pressure regulator. (my mounting location is temporary since I will be installing vintage air in the very near future.) I set it to 5.5 and so far it has pretty much fixed my issues. I still have some hot start problems but it has helped. I decided to go the cheaper route instead of spending the $100+ on the fuel pump. Now, I’m sure that will bite me in the butt down the road but I am really thinking about a new Fitech EFI system so I am saving my pennies for now.

Picked up some 15x8 rallys from a friend of my dads. A little elbow grease and paint... came out nice. I plan to run Cooper Cobra 255 60s.

My dad had these buckets that he wasn't currently using so I decided to use them for now. I'd like to eventually redo the bench seat but figured these would be pretty killer looking and a lot more comfortable...

I believe these came out of a 73+ blazer, so the brackets were not quite right. I decided to use ECE's passenger side brackets for both seats. This gave me the right clearance between the seat and the steering wheel without having to spend the money on an original set of 72 bucket brackets.

So I finally ordered my Vintage Air and it showed up the other day! :metal: I ordered it from Laid Back Recreations... I've got to say they are top notch! Sarah was awesome and super helpful! I also order my heater control panel from CJ Designs, an awesome piece. I would highly recommend them both.

Got all the interior components removed and went ahead and got my old carpet ripped out. I've noticed that a lot of projects are like the children's book, if you give a mouse a cookie, you know.. if you give a mouse a cookie its probably going to want a glass of milk... well same applies to our trucks. If you put in a new ac-heater you're probably going to want to put in new carpet and if you put in new carpet you're probably going to want to install fatmat rattle trap (and so on and so forth).... I think you get my point! :lol:
