Re: Electrical Gurus - 87' no keyed power
Does this look like what I need? Or is there one that’s better quality than this that I should get? Thanks

This is not pre-terminated. I usually crimp and solder the ring with heatshrink for strain relief. The connection to the primary wire should be soldered and covered with heatshrink. Don't leave the off white or black plastic balun on the primary wire. The balun is the oem molded cover for the splice between the fusible link and the primary wire. If you decide to replace the primary wire use red SXL jacketed 10 ga. |

Once I got the wire out in the open where I could see it, I found a bunch of exposed copper wire right before the fusible link. I cut it there and crimped and soldered the new fusible link. I put a protective sleeve over the wires to protect them from the headers. I drove it about 50 miles and no problems so far!

Re: Electrical Gurus - 87' no keyed power
I recently went to the UpullandPay to get the wire that goes from the fire wall to the starter, the truck I got it from it had a fusible link on it, my truck didn't have that fusible link. Also so the truck I got it from was a C10, my truck is a C20, Custom 20. The donor truck also had another wire off of that which went to the fuse block on the firewall.
