Re: Dealership Decals, lets see what your truck has.
My attitude has always been that I wasn't paid to drive a billboard. That said, now that I've had my truck for 50 years, I wish I hadn't ditched the Barton's Chevrolet plate frames. I do have the original California plates though.

In Texas a lot of dealers used stamped bumpers to advertise their dealerships. Why stamped bumpers? Because in Texas we don’t need no stinking badges!
Seriously, I think it was a good idea because those bumpers are a lot more likely to stick around than a badge or a sticker. This bumper outlasted the dealership: Geo (George) Pharis Chevrolet in Hearne, TX. Incidentally, Mr Pharis went on the establish a Chevy dealership in Sugar Land, TX and eventually sold his business to Bill Heard. |

Another stamped bumper here. This is on the 67 I got back in May of this year. The truck was purchased probably less than five miles from where I live and it currently sits.
The bumper is in pretty rough shape overall and will not be on the truck when the project is complete but I thought it was interesting and brought back memories of all the trucks with dealership stamped bumpers from my youth. The first thing I usually do with any new or new to me auto is peel the dealership stickers/emblems off. They didn't give me a discount to advertise for them so I don't. |

Let me know if you ever decide to sell the metal emblem. I have a 72 K20 I'd like to put it on someday if I ever finish the truck. |

You bet. I’ll also keep an eye out for another example. Here’s a Highlander Blazer that member SoCoC10 had also from Jerry Roth. Same metal emblem in same location as my k20.

Another Jerry Roth decal this one poached from the CL ad thread. Wonder why this dealer made used of decals and metal emblems?

Here's mine, wish I could learn more about the dealership; they seem to be long gone...

Re: Dealership Decals, lets see what your truck has.
My mom grew up Winnsboro and we still have some property there. Sorry but I know nothing about that dealership.
EDIT: I'll add most car dealers bought ads in the high school yearbooks so you might at least find that. My grandfather owned a store in Terrell and always bought an ad as did Buddy Allen Chevrolet-Buick in Terrell. Quote:

I've found a few things, like back in the 60's, Allen Cook Chevrolet Buick did station wagon ambulance conversions for a few years. Looks like they finally closed down in the late 80's. |

My 72 came with one of it's original license plate frames from the selling dealer. I've been searching high and low for another for a long time.

Re: Dealership Decals, lets see what your truck has.
I'm trying to find a Vern Trider Chevrolet, Anaheim plate frame. His kids (and himself) were neighbors and friends.

Here are the dealership decals and emblems off of my truck. It still wears the original Chevy dealership badges and sticker plus a used car lot where it must have ended up at some point.
