Not too much doin' with this truck in 2025. I got it back from the transmission shop with the linkage repaired. It was fixed for free - but I still had to pay the tow bill - and I have put some miles on it but not too many. The truck runs great and the exhaust sounds so good the sound is actually addictive. I fire it up just to listen to it. I also ran out of gas the other day with it but that is a long story: lets just say when the gauge says you have 1/8 of a tank left, you better pull into the first station you see. With my 2010 it means you have another 100 miles.
Couple things: The throttle bracket isn't working for the truck: it isn't a straight shot for the cable, and my transmission guy is blaming a lot of things on it. He probably has a point. If I were to do it all again I would have left the Holley that was on the Blueprint where it was, but I had to have an Edelbrock. I have no kickdown because WOT is difficult. I cannot find the right bracket and I think that ultimately I will have to fab one up. Also, I was warned to not waste my money on a Retrosound radio but I did anyway. "Its so cheap, even if it's junk it is worth it!", I thought at the time. Actually it is just absolute garbage, it has to come out of there. I have an original AM radio for it, I will throw that in there. I have found space indoors for it for the Winter maybe I can do one or two things to it during that time. |
