My fleet side cross sills look exactly like the stepside ones, just wider. A fleet header panel and tailgate might fit :hmm:

This is the parts haul...plus Thanks to RayLube I got the pulleys for my power steering! Thanks again RayLube! Also thanks To DPower for the PS pump and lother PS goodies in the box.

Are you planning on using the ram steering or are you going to swap gear box with square body and captain fab adapter? Also from the picture looks like some pump brackets may be missing.

Dont have a picture stored, but I have one installed on one truck, one in a box in my garage both the old style and one new style installed on another truck. But if you Google a photo there should be a bracket on the back of the pump to the exhaust manifold. Be a day or so to get a real photo

Thanks! I found this picture that shows the rear bracket. I thought there should be one. I will text dwane to see if he has it if not, I am on the lookout for the rear bracket.

If you have pictures of how the pump is installed that would be great. I am in no hurry. I am about to start disassembly on the truck...so I have a long way to go, but want all my pieces ready to go. I am going to start cleaning up pulleys and stuff soon.

Use the box, not the ram. I have done several box swaps, way back when before adapters were available I just shimmed with washers, and then tried cpp, but then captain fab works the best. The rams are finicky and hard to get parts and repairs that are reliable
Junkyard boxes go for cheap and dont be scared to replace seals on the box if they leak they are cheap and easy to do |

In for the build. Glad to see some love for the v6. My 64 3/4 ton still has the 305E in it. I opened up a magnum intake and put a 4 barrel carb on mine. Woke it up a bit. If you need any close up pictures on p/s let me know and I'll get them as mine has the original setup.

Good to see you getting some parts gathered! Did you figure out if the fleetside header and tailgate can be used for easy bed widening?

OK question for everyone...I am missing the 2 bolts that hold the front bracket on to the PS pump. Anyone know the size and length?
I was going to remove the pulley and see what fit, but easier said than done. The front has a nut on the shaft and I can't figure out how to hold the pulley so it doesn't spin...any words of wisdom to remove this old pulley? |

I may have found a new dually rear end. It is a 14 bolt C&C dually with 4.10 gears. So the width is great at 63.5" WMS to WMS. The price is right at $200. Should I continue to look for 3.73 gears...or do you think the 4.10 are going to be fine?
On another note, my wife may be getting transferred and I am not sure I want to move with a project. So I may get this running and have as many parts as I can then sell it as a project for the next person. Just tough to move a project as far away as we may be moving. |

OK, so yesterday was a big day...got the truck turned around from where it has been sitting for 8 months to my "work spot" in the driveway. For some reason I like the hood/engine bay facing my house. Anyway, had a few buddies over yesterday and I said, let's move the truck! So we pushed it out of the driveway did a manual 3 point turn and pushed it back in. Looks so much better this way...LOL Will start disassembly soon.

Played around with a few things today...I was clear coating some other things for work and had some left over so I lightly sanded the cowl extension and clear coated it. I am not planning on doing much if any body work to the truck...it is what it is a dent is a dent and will stay...going to be a good driver.
I also started sand blasting my "new" double groove pulleys...got one done, 2 more to go...trying to decide between black, silver, or red for the pulley color. |
