you can have as many as the marriage will allow, just keep pushing the limits, you'll find out, I did lol

RANDY COX 12-26-2003 07:00 PM

RATIO

Hmmm how about a 4 to 1 ratio I have 4 and the wife has 1,Mine are a 90 4x4 burb that's a daily driver with 250.000 miles and a 41 chevy 1 ton and half a 48 chevy fleetline and finally a 70 burb 4x4 just got.so can't have too many.

Wootdog 12-26-2003 07:05 PM

5 to 1

Four have tags and insurance the other is a project. Yes I am divorced. Most women will not put up with this habit. And yes that is too much upkeep. Most of them are old. But you drive the one with the most gas in it. Wootdog

D-Money 12-26-2003 08:00 PM

3 vehicles to 2 drivers. Well actually one is a show truck that never really drives and the other two are daily drivers.

red71cheyenne 12-26-2003 08:48 PM

4 vehicles with 3 licensed drivers. Son is working on getting his permit so thats 4 driving and no spares in case one breaks. Mine break all the time, so I like to have a spare.

Mechanic 12-26-2003 08:50 PM

4:2 with the new Miata for the wife. Still have her '94 626 w/about 55K. My '93 Ranger 4X4 is my daily drive. '71 Cheyenne20 is for camping. Now that the Ranger's gettin' tired I'm thinking of getting a 71-72 SWB. But I need to do it while the wife's still excited about the Miata!

bow-tie-bandit 12-26-2003 08:57 PM

There is just me and my wife that drive as of now. She drives her truck. (that makes her ratio 1 to 1)
I am down to 4 vehicles right now ( my ratio being 4 to 1 )
My wife wont drive my vehicles (like I'd let her LOL)
I look at it like this. If it doesn't piss off my wife, cost too much, and I have a place to park it then I'm getting another one. I think a good ratio would be 100 to 1 give or take a couple.
:D :bowtie: :D

RussTburb 12-26-2003 09:40 PM

9 vehicles counting the motor home. 2.5 drivers. The Geo is mine (100 mile comute), I traded my wifes '89 aerostar "eddie bauer"(sp) for the 3/4 ton burb [and she loves it]. BUT she says that I have too many trucks! I have three trucks she won't let me bring home until something goes! :( "Problem? I see no Problem!":burnout:

sdredneck 12-27-2003 12:42 AM

2.5:1
My Wife swears that I can't have another vehicle. It doesn't matter that all but the Dart Run and thats a pretty indepth restoration. Ah what does she know. If it were her choice I would drive a Fo*d. Its a good thing that I love her and can look past her flaws.

Blue_71 12-27-2003 01:01 AM

hmmm, i have 4, my dad has 2, and my mom has one... so thats 2.5 drivers (i only have my permit) to 3 running vehicles
my dad- 94 K3500 dually 6.5L diesel 5 speed, 75 ford F-100 ranger, 360/auto, shifter is messed up in it
my mom-2000 jimmy 4.3/auto/4x4
me-- in signature, the 2 71s are becoming one and the 74 needs all new brake system, so the 89 is the only one that runs

n2billet 12-27-2003 01:32 AM

Let's see...... I have 5, my wife has one and my daughter has one but it's still early in the car cycle (this is the time I give a car to live while under the control of my daughter) so I might have to add another to the list before long......kids, got to love them!

N2trux, your wife a 64-65 mustang? are you sure?

djracer 12-27-2003 02:29 AM

We have 2 drivers and 5 rides with tags and insurance plus 1 drag truck project!

lukecp 12-27-2003 02:38 AM

Only 1:1 for me :(

Of course i am only 19 and have a hard enough time keeping my '72 on the road....no way i could afford a second vehiicle, lol.
Although i would love something that actually gets halfway decent gas mileage....my '72 likes to drink premium fuel at an alarming rate, which gets a tad bit expensive to say the least :bowtie:

leadfoot067 12-27-2003 03:31 AM

well i have no wife.....but i have 4 vehicles that i drive regularly....the 67 gmc is gonna get taken apart soon..so that makes 3 drivers...the 5th car is a 71 olds cutlass that i dont drive but could if needed...its in storage...current ratio would be 4:1...

laplander 12-27-2003 04:27 AM

N2TRUX,
The Malibu is what I'm building her to take the place of the van. 17" Rallys, 2" drop all around, cowl hood, and soon a 383 TPI motor with a 700r4 tranny. I told her instead of spending silly cash for a new vehicle, I'd spend 10-15k and make a station wagon I would enjoy driving once in a while.
My dad and I decided we need to buy a place together where we can just hide our toys and not have to tell them about it. I wonder how a divorce attorney would look at that.

Nik

Smokin72on20s 12-27-2003 04:35 AM

laplander, did you get that email i sent you?

3 licensed drivers, 5 cars.

SEVEND2 12-27-2003 06:30 AM

llama 12-27-2003 11:26 AM

Mrs72shadetree 12-27-2003 12:00 PM

we hve 2.5 drivers...son not quite old enough yet.....and I have 1 car and 1 truck....hubby has 2 trucks , 1 bronco,,,son has 1 bronco, 1 junk 73? truck and hubby is going to look at a 68 and another 69 today....as long has he leaves my front yard alone he can have the side yard and the dog can have the back.. I used to fuss but it doesn't do any good so oh well the more the merrier right?;)

mrein3 12-27-2003 12:27 PM

We just made it 3:1 at our house. Only my wife and I drive.

1968/1969/1970/1971/1972 Chevy truck (Johnny Cash like)
1971 Malibu convertable
1972 Malibu hard top
1994 Ford Escort (201,xxx miles - GREAT car)
1998 Ford Explorer (99,xxx miles - great car crappy engine 4.0l SOHC)
2004 Ford Explorer (picked it up a week ago. V8 - hopefully fixed the '98s problems with a different engine)

I would have traded the '94 or the '98 on the '04 but the trade in was next to nothing on them.
