The door fits well, the gaps look good,
I adjusted the gaps that were too wide by welding. Then the passenger side started. |

Adjust rear mirror holes again.
Check the gaps again, then spot weld step by step again, which weld to wide gaps. |

Now the finishing work, grinding off the long weld seam
and eliminating the dents from welding as far as possible, then smoothing with Bondo. Assemble everything for testing and be happy that it worked well. |

The two fenders got patches and the holes in the decorative strip welded shut were fixed, there were quite a few. Fixed a patch and the reinforcement plate in front.

The two inner fenders were rusted through at the front and were repaired with patches

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
I'm done with the major welding work for now. What is still missing? That's right...... the hood and the rear panels, I'm still a little scared because they hardly have a straight spot, they're so dented, I was a bit scared after the sandblasting. The doors and fenders are now being prepared for painting, as is the Cab, of course.

Part of my training 30-40 years ago. Observation. That caravan is lovely too. I guess not for sale?? I have a friend looking for something interesting. I built one for my 1963 Taunus Transit and then my 66 C10 http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...ps521c7fe4.jpg |
Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
I think so, not for sale, he bought it for his wife. How beautiful the transit with caravan is, not only do you have sharp eyes, you also have good hands, great work

Now the cabin has been painted red on the inside. I wasn't satisfied, the paint was rough and the spray gun sprayed water at the end, my separator was too small and it was already too cold. Wet sand everything again and start all over again, better water separator and more heat

Now it's time, the exterior color, it's going to be pebble grey, I've seen the color on another C10 and the owner was kind enough to tell me the colour, other parts have been painted black

Mask the doors neatly, I like the look of them, slight dust inclusions, will later be sanded wet and then polished. My paint Shop. The Cab prepared.

The cab is painted in my cabin, which is unfortunately too small for that, I have too much overspray and have to wet sand everything with 3000 and 6000 and then polish it, more work, but it turned out well

Re: A '62 has to get back on the road
The painting work is finished for now and it has become October 2021 and it was my goal to finish, before it gets too cold to paint, my shop cannot be fully heated.
