Good luck on your new business. Are you also going to be using an aluminum oxide to blast the parts clean? Also, what about etching primer?

Thank You everyone for the encouragement. I appreciate the moral support.
If you dont' have a powder coating shop in your area please feel free to E-mail, PM or call me for quotes (217-243-1664). dtlilly: We mostly sand blast to clean the parts. We are going to be investing in a dip tank that will strip the parts. We use a pickling agent to keep the parts from rusting and promotes adhesion. We have a 10' x 16' Blast booth that will accomodate most jobs. We usually make it down to Memphis for Super Chevy in April. Maybe we can trade stories about the truck that got away. |
cool, congrats on the new buisness!
i have been doing powdercoating for the government for about 4 1/2 years now. granted we don't do the type of coating that most people visualize when they think powdercoating, but it's still a very neat process. i'm hoping one day soon to hook up with one of the local shops and learn that type of powdercoating. hopefully one day i will have a shop i can do my own in as well |
Good luck and keep us posted on how its going. I'd go with the website idea too. Lots of business seems to be generated on the web. I'd be intersted how much it costs to get some parts coated. Say, like a set of bumper brackets. How much to blast and coat? Thanks, Jeff.

red71cheyenne: most small parts we'll do in a stock color (black white, green, blue) for around $10/pc. other colors are a little higher in price. The price is also dependent upon how much prep time is involved. You can save a little $ by blasting the parts yourself. All parts need to be completely clean of grease, paint, rubber, nylon etc. The part needs to be able to withstand 400 deg. F. Give me a call for more details 217-243-1664, 8:30-5:30 EST
-thanks- |
Good luck on the business. I do some powdercoating on the side and have thought many times about going into it full time.
