There's a hose that comes off the middle top of the intake that goes to the pcv valve at the rear of the drivers side valve cover. I can see it in your last pic, was wondering what you had it hooked to.

Edit- I don't know why it double posted my question, my phone was messsing up so I got off line and back on and it double posted it.

so the biggest reason i didnt know my mistake was due to everything plugged in near to where it was suppose to go...either way I'm fixing it in the morning, just took a shower so not going to get dirty...plus i have other stuff i need to do tomorrow since my harness will be here

If you're just going to clamp a hose on the filter, I would shove the hose over the flared part and then put a clamp on it, it will be a little tough to do, but it would be a more solid connection. Also, what's the blue thing on the output side of the filter? Looks like a quick disconnect tool?

Yea push the return hose on pass the barb there also shouldnt ge anything sticking out the otther side like that

its was the return line, thats why i didn't put it on over the lip, its actually kinda a temp thing anyhow....

on to the next objective...that blue thing is a quick connect, i got it in a fuel line kit i bought a company a member suggested on here...pretty easy setup, i did have to go get a couple things since i went mostly quick connect...the only thing i didn't like about the kit was that it didn't come with two male connectors, that would have been good for a couple things on here...with the spot where i have the hose clamp I'm going to put another quick connect on there...i wasn't rushing but want to see how it would fit up there and how it would be around the exhaust, i do have the nylon hose covered with hose to help protect if from the heat...im also kinda paranoid about the lines so I'm going to wrap the exhaust back some so i don't have to worry about it

i would have tried to get that over that barb but had hard enough time getting it to that point...even with hot water and spit

swapping those valve covers around looks a lot better man....thanks for the correction...looks a lot better with the oil cap on there correctly

Do you have a 5/16 quick connect you could put on the return? Also, not sure what you mean by the two male connectors? And the blue thing on the output of the filter, the filter has a retainer in it, you shouldn't need anything else.

i see...thats probably why it was such a pain in the butt to get out when i put it on....im actually worried about that...i may have to get a new filter...i bent one of the do dads in there when i pulled it out...i was able to bend it back, but still worried a bit

Re: 5.3 swap build so far

Great progress, I totally agree with you on the lack of male connectors for these nylon fuel line kits. I am trying to make some male fittings with cut off fuel filter ends in both 3/8 and 5/16, and installing them in the compression fittings.

I have seen some kind of thermowraping for fuel lines on OE vehicles I am sure some product of exists. I am thinking of running a heat shield over my exhaust as it passes by the fuel lines.

That would be a 2006-up pedal, the older ones were metal.

ya is what i ended up doing was cutting a few male ends off of some hardline and getting them welded, kinda sucks cause those things are expensive, but its cool, i got it I'm hoping to have the harness in today

Just got my tac harness in the mail and I'm pretty sure I got the wrong one!!! Errr

ls1nova71 04-03-2014 10:33 PM

Re: 5.3 swap build so far

There are two different harnesses, one for the metal pedal and one for the plastic. The plastic one has a smaller plug on the pedal side. The one BR3W posted a pic of is the one you need. Where did you get it?
