This is a rare XM 757 made for the military by Ford. It can be shifted to 8wd. The dark unit on the front is a water cannon! It's a craigslist item I found. Not mine. Wish it was!

My first truck was a 1977 Dodge power wagon M882. 5/4 ton 4x4. I have a vintage photo of her in the govt. trim. I know it has a 1980's front clip. That old ex military powerwagon was tough as nails and could climb anything with its dana 60 front and dana 70 rear. Now I have a 1956 Willys wagon. She is a 28,XXX original mile stocker except for a chevy 327 now 350 transplant. I wnat to say the gearing is around 5:88's and this thing can climb straight up a hill

Sorry no new photos but this is where I found here sleeping in a barn for the past 30 years. I need to get new pictures one of these days(2 years old) ..............

It was last visited in 1958. Not cost effective to bring home it was left behind but, it was up for free if you removed it from there. A few links for you!

Hey 68,69K20, thanks for the plug!!!! My brother and I own the brown and white 73 Bronco at the bottom of your post. That photo was from the second of three magazines it was in. That was in the Dec 2000 Collectible Automobile. It was also in the spring 97 Open Road and later in the May/June Motor trend Classic. It currently has only 48,000 original miles. It recieved only a cosmetic restoration.

You have to post pictures of that Bronco. That is pretty rare to see a Bronco that year and it still be all original. Very nice.

My brother-in-law (& friend) bought a sweet brown w/white `77 Bronco Explorer (didn`t they have that package?) back in the mid-80s.It was unusual to see one that wasn`t rusted and even more unusual the rear wheel openings were still uncut. It still had stock hubcaps and whitewalls.I was proud that he left the wells stock, ordered 16" stocker wheels and ran tall skinnies. He should have kept that thing.

My Dad had a sweet '72 or '74 (can't quite remember) Ford bronco. All original uncut. Had less than 80,000 miles on her. White top cinnamon body. I come over to his house one day and there's a bunch of guys looking at it in Dad's driveway. He had decided to sell it and hadn't said damn thing to me. He let that bronco go for a song. Getting a little P.O. thinking about it now.

I want one of those soooooo bad I can taste it. Honestly, if a bronco had been up for sale before I saw my blazer, i'd be on a bronco site right now.

I have the magazines around here somewhere. I will try to find them a scan them to post. I live in Idaho and my brother and I did that truck while I still lived in So Cal. He has the truck in his shop otherwise I'd go take some pics. It was a fun project and a great truck to drive. It is a Ranger,automatic(1st year),power steering.limited slip rear,HD rear springs and 302. It had an awful red paint job on it when we bought it. We discovered the Ranger stripes when stripping it for repaint and dedcided to go back to original. No rust, modifications or body damage!

1st pic is from May/June 2006 Motor trend classic,2nd pic is from December 2000 Collectible Automobile and the last one is a press release issued for the 2001 Fabulous Fords Forever car show when the Bronco was a feature vehicle. This Bronco also won the first annual Bill Stroppe trophy at this show in 1996. The cosmetic restoration was done to make the 30th anniversary celebration at the 1996 show.

Wish I had pics of the 61 cj5 I rebuilt in Machine Tool my senior year. Tim your old truck reminds of a 57 factory 4x4 Chevy that ran around the town where my parents live until the mid 80s. Some of the guys around town told some awesome stories about that old truck. Now its sitting in a barn waiting for its turn to be restomodded. Its got a hole for the sun roof they talk about it being blue way back when. They bought a 57 1 ton cab for it that is original paint. Its a step side to.

Thats a pretty sweet Cherokee SJ to I always like the 2 door versions of those, and I love gun metal grey. He needs to swap out the grill to the early 60s one though.

Came from a Jeep family, had a bunch of CJ's but I really like the Gladiator series...

Before I got my 68 burb 4x4 I had an 83 4x4 yota. That first picture almost looks just like the one I had! That thing was great, and would go anywhere!
I had to sell it; and at the time of the sale it had 200k miles on the little 4 banger, and it had a blown head gasket and wouldn't make it to the end of the block with out overheating. I sold it as is to a missionary group that saw it for sale on the street, and they were going to fix the engine and then send it down to South America to help them get to the back country to help them do their missionary work! I often wonder these day's where it is, and what kind of roads it has traveled.
Years went by and I had to have another one, so I decided to buy a new 02 Tacoma. Still a tough little truck, but I wish it had the straight axle like the 83 had... I've been thinking about doing a straight axle conversion on it, putting in a Dana 44 up front.

Ok,here`s something different,in more ways than one.2,200 were made from the 50s-60s in Sweden. But the engine is German, you`ll see. It`s a 2wd,too(I think?).It`s a Snow-Trac.This one was bought by a Scottish Highland sheep farmer who brush painted it red to blend it with it`s surroundings better.Oh,and they`re aluminum:

here something different, i've always loved these old Roadless Traction converted Land Rovers
http://www.bayourovers.com/forestryrover.gif
http://www.bayourovers.com/forestry2.gif
Quote:

Roadless Traction Limited built this Land Rover at the request of the Canadian Forestry Service in 1963 and 1964. This high clearance 109 was capable of crossing ditches, drains, boulders, logs or whatever. It was shod in 10 X 28 inch tractor tires and had a mechanical winch for recovery and handling timber.

Notice how this Land Rover has different width axles. The wider front axle allows it to steer, and the rear wheels, on a normal width axle, do not follow in the front wheels tracks, improving traction. There are only eight of these vehicles still known to survive.
