Love all the detail.
Also glad to see a white firewall.
I hate the spray bomb black firewalls that so many of these classic trucks end up with.

Thanks man, I can't take credit for spraying the paint. My friends at Greening motor company here in Nashville are taking care of all paint. I'm no painter, I'm just picking colors & rooting him on.

I am a huge fan of the IL6 too, although my interest lies more in the Pontiac 230 OHC.
It is pretty cool that you are going to push 350 hp out of yours!!
When you are getting that kind of output, then the engine weight to power ratio really adds up to some awesome performance.

When I explain this to other people they are like "ahhh so you can get off the line faster !!"
To which I reply, "Well yes, but you can stop sooner too...."
Sometimes stopping is more important !!

Looks like a cool build, and I really dig on the detail work you did on your motor, very nicely done !

Really Nice work.
Firm believer in the right tool for the job. Now I know its true.
I really dig that paint booth.
You are doing some good clean work.

Yeah I love the I 6's. I've had lot's of V8's & really wanted something different. I wont be turbo charging for awhile. I'm kinda excited about the fuel injection for the reliability & smoothness. Without turbo it should still make between 280-300 HP.

Here's a few more pics. I'm taking a bunch to make a coffee table book for me & my grandpa. I don't think he ever imagined the truck would be a hot rod as it was always a tool to him, but I think he"ll really appreciate it. Not sure I like the white distributor cap or not. Might wind up being blue too.

Looking good! I agree, the white distributer cap doesn't grab me either. Blue or black.

Thanks man, I love that my grandpa painted it too. The motor has been about a year & a half in the planning & it's really coming together now. Hope it runs as good as it looks.

You have raised the bar for inliners. It is one of those engines that I find myself staring at, so unique, rare, excellent finishes. It makes me say,

Thanks Bro, Well your 6 was kinda the genesis of mine. You already did the turbo so I had to find some other way. We'll have to go cruise once mine is up & running.

Sounds good.
Cruise and a few good brews, with the trucks parked right out front.

Very nice, and with it sitting up to that white firewall, I like the rotor cap a lot more now too.

It's a F.A.S.T. fuel injection setup.

Hey Paintman, I'm using a 1961 Schlitz 15 & a half gallon keg. It's been fitted with a fuel sending unit that works with the stock gauge. The fuel pump is an electric one that comes with the F.A.S.T. fuel injection setup. It's controlled by the computer.

Well It'd probably be running now but I'm waiting to take delivery of a new radiator as my old one is toast. So here's a couple more detailed under hood shots & new tail pipes. I'll post new exhaust pics once I get it back on the lift.

First off your motor looks amazing!!!!!!! I am also doing a 250 for my 46, and looking at a similar carb setup. I was under the impression that these TBI carbs needed anti slosh baffles within the fuel tank. I was also concerned about the electric fuel pumps. I have heard horror stories about them being unreliable and noisy. Hopefully you will keep us posted on your experiences. And in the meantime I have shot you a pm in regards to T. Lowe

No notes about needing a baffled tank in the literature. Guess I'll find out soon. Firing it up today. :metal::metal::metal::metal:
