 That's how you put 10lbs of $hit in a 5lb bag. I got plenty of room. I bet I could get two more trucks in there. New floors/ cab corner in the mail. Maybe I better go move that fender. Now the S10?

Re: Daverods 52
I now wish I ran a gas line to the shop also. It is gas isn't it? I was thinking of a wood burning stove to heat the shop.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Ya, u could do propane? Gas line is easy to run It's just plastic 18" down. Just go rent a trencher. Wood's work.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Already did that. What a PITA. I'm 90 ft from the house, and more to the gas supply. I think that wood burning stove will work out and be cheaper to run. But it's going to get warm soon. Maybe by next year.

Re: Daverods 52
Hey Dave what compressor did you buy again. I'm trying to deside between the Kobolt 30, and the campbell 60.
|
Re: Daverods 52
I got the Campbell with the 80 gallon tank. It made a big difference with all my air tools. Especially the air grinders. :metal:

Re: Daverods 52
sweet. I'm gonna go with the 60. If I ever need more air my dad has a 30gal tank sitting at the house. I just dont use it enough to need the bigger motor and tank.
I can get this one for just under 400. And I'm about to get the lowes tax refund card so the extra 10% they give me is basicly going to pay for it! |
Re: Daverods 52
It's only a single stage. I would get the 80. ;) Bigger is better. You'll use it.

Re: Daverods 52
Now how does the engine help the grill?
I ended up with the 30gal Kobolt. I didn't have room in the eletrical box. I'm not going to be in my house but for maybe a couple more years. And it's dual voltage! |
Re: Daverods 52
Well, that sucks.:waah: I don't think that 30 gal would keep up with my 20 ga. brad gun.:lol: No sand blasting for you. I'm sure you'll put it to good use though.:metal: The engine turns the rotisserie and provides smoke for the smoker. Da
|
Re: Daverods 52
I see.
My dad has the same compressor and I used it to sand blast my frame, didn't have any problem with it keeping up. I had it set to I think 70psi and I was using my pressure blaster. Also used it to paint the frame. I actully thought about buying him the 60gal tank and taking his. They are about the same in price. Would have been better for the plasma. |

Brown truck guy came. New floors.:metal: Sanded alittle on my hood. Had to take the whole front clip apart to change the fender.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Your not wasting any time are you.
|
Re: Daverods 52
I'm good at taking things apart.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Got a S10 frame, 118" with front running gear and a title. $100.:metal: Got the passanger side floor done.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Nice find. No diff though?
|
Re: Daverods 52
I heard a 4x4 rear end is wider. I guess I'll try to get a 4x4 one. I'm not sure how much wider it is? I think you have to use spacers anyways. Might be cheaper just to get a reg one and spacers. I know where a cheap reg one is.:ito:
|
Re: Daverods 52
Why do you want a wider rear end? Then you can't put wide tires on it. :uhmk:
Nova, or an S-10 with rear disc brakes. |
Re: Daverods 52
The tires rub on the bed. The axle is to narrow. You can use offsets but you still need to use spacers. Rear disk brakes, nice.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Use a ZR2 4wd rear. It is a nice option but if you go wider that 8 inch tires you may rub your fenders

:waah: One down one to go.:uhmk: Sold my 283 and the 52 frame got some cash for my rear end,
Found a Zr2 (no posi), 10 bolt 3.42 gears for $350. S10 4x4 3.42 gears for $150. Zr2 3.73 w/posi $650. |
Re: Daverods 52
Should get my frame tomorrow. The guy had to take the cab off it, then carry it by hand out of the junk yard.:lol: Dumbest junk yard I ever seen. Cars and truck everywhere no way in or out.:smoke::smoke:Did have a bunch of inline 6's.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Where's the yard at?
|
Re: Daverods 52
Poky Waynes. No 292's
|
Re: Daverods 52
Are you running a 6 cylinder or a V-8? You might get better gas mileage with the V-8. Long time ago my friend had a 61 Belair with a 6, and I had a 58 Chevy convert with a 283. I got better gas mileage than he did.
|
Re: Daverods 52
I'm going with a 8 or a newer 6 maybe a 4.3. No inline stuff I aready have that.:uhmk: I really want a LS but I don't think I'm smart enough. yet.:smoke:
|
Re: Daverods 52
Dave you can come pick up a extra s10 rear end that I got. It's in East Texas.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Where exactly is Wayne's? And how are the prices?
|
Re: Daverods 52
It's on the old hiway going to simplots just past pacific recycling. Prices seems good frame was 100. I saw a inline on craigs 235 out of a car 150.

Cut out some more cancer.:uhmk: I should have been a doctor. Welded in one patch. Did get a auto darkening helmet, what a difference. Should have done that long ago. Maybe one of days I'll get some gas. Back was sore from boarding did'nt get much done. I should get the rest done by this weekend. Got a cab corner coming. Checked out some 4.3's. Don't know if I really need a posi or not. Thinking a zr2 but the posi one is 600 non posi 325.
|
Re: Daverods 52
Auto darkening helmets are the bomb. I like the adjustable lens feature also. Wish it was available in magnifying style for us old dogs.
I was having a heck of a time seeing while welding in the cold last week, Until I realized my breath was fogging up the lens when I dropped the hood. |
Re: Daverods 52
Nice build so far. Can't wait to see more.
|
Re: Daverods 52
When I first got my truck I thought it had rust issues but after seeing what some of you guys have to replace I realised mine wasn't bad at all, I love the dent puller.

Re: Daverods 52
So much for not cutting my new s10 frame. Bagging the rear, putting on a 2 link with some notches.:ito:
