Ok well i got both doors hung and one fender off the core support. I need 2 go by shims today for the fenders and then I will line them up and check out the hood fitment. this engine has been dropped and shoved back and still sits way up. I now understand fully the term shoehorned

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

Yeah those are the biggest drag radial MT makes and I have seen people running low 8 sec passes on them.I can clear about 6 more inches if I need slick

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

it looks like its tucked up in there alot what are the specs on the rearend

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

how tall is that cowl hood and where did you get it?

AKoldstyle 06-29-2009 03:12 PM

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

Ok the rearend is a narrowed 9inch from art morrison, the rims are 15x10 and those tires are 315/60/15. I can fit up to 20 inch wide tire, and a max of 33 tall. the tires measure 13.5 wide and 29.5 tall, so there is alot of rubber under there. As for the cowl hood its a bolt on 4.5 from unlimited products fiberglass

Here is an old pic from the bed tubbing and yesterday looking at the rear end pic for you. I like how my tires are tucked in and will only go witha bigger tire for traction at the track.

how good is the fit on the hood? and do you have any pics of the view looking through the windshield as if you were sitting in the driver seat?

Looks great man! What kind of headers are you running for that big motor?

The headers are hooker super comp 2 primaries and 3 1/2 collectors. top of the frame rail had 2 be trimmed alittle due 2 engine setback and lowering into the chassis. I just had the truck painted and it was done yesterday. Its now all ppg black and looks wet and smooth. I gotta give my body man props he went the extra mile and kept the bill down. I cant wait 2 post some pics on the 12th when i get home. You guys will really like this beast . Happy holidays and may this new year bring us all further on our projects and happiness in life. 2010 here we go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

the unlimited products bolt on fiberglass 4 inch cowl was a piece of expensive crap and needed about 10 hours of work and the fender edges had 2 built up with glass 1/2 inch 2 meet the hood. booooooooooooooooooooo on this product. ok i feel better now

AKoldstyle 01-03-2010 03:10 AM

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer

the hood cost 380 and shipping was 389 then the materials where about 50 and my time. although the latch and hinge section works well

Looks just bada$$.... All my hotrods/drag cars, and almost all of my personal cars have always been black, no other color looks better to me than black. Can you show and/or explain how your going to fasten your glove box/gauge cluster to the dash. I just love this idea. Im getting some custom gauges for my project and think I want to do this mod.
Thanks for sharing your build...
