well i haven't been doing much lately! i have been ordering some parts like the painted bumpers, will be getting a bbw panel from clyde65 in the next few weeks, taking alot of measurement for my fender patches and the inner fender braces! i also have been looking into making my hood into a front tilt hood, i got the brackets about two weekends ago when i was in tulsa for dirt cheap! i will be going back to that junkyard in the future, i'm in the middle of buying a camaro rear sway bar with all the bracket with new bushings again for cheap! i did make my gas filler plate its not done but you get the idea! it will be welded to the inside of the bed behind the wheel tub about even with the top of the wheel tub along the seam!! anyways on to the picture right!! i have a flush mount gas cap for it, it sould be nice when i'm done!!

its a flush mount fuel cap from cpp, the gas filler box i made is 4 x 4 x 7.5! the gas cap is 3 in. and i wanted enough room to be able to fit a hose up in it and have room to tighten the clamp!!

ok, maybe by sunday i can have the top welded and grounded smooth, cut the hole out and go over to the truck and give you a better idea of how it will look! i remember you saying that you wished you would have had a lip on the side of yours to weld to, so i made themon mine, i think it should work good! i started it a few days ago when i posted in your thread but got side tracked with the kids and lil projects at home! anyways thanks for taking the time and posting!!

ok well i got a small update for today! Allan - i got my gas filler plate welded and sprayed a couple coats of self etching primer on it so the cap would stand out some! i will still take a picture of it in the bed so everyone can see where it will mount! was talking with my wife and i'm talking of drilling holes on the side taps of the gas filler to make it unbolt instead of welding it on!!

well fryer, i still think i might install it but it will be awhile before its on the road! i still got to get the bbw panel from clyde65 and install it, then theres a few other things i got to do before the cab is done! i have been rethinking of what needs to be done first to get it back on the road and what can be done after its on the road!! atleast your truck is on the road and your driving it! i havn't drove my truck in a lil over 2 yrs. and that bugs me! but if i just keep at it it will get done, i was planning on having it done by the time my lil girl starts school, i thought we had 1.5-2 yrs but no she starts next yr. she'll be 3.5 when school starts next yr. and she'll be going to pre-k, im glad in a way! i would have liked to have drove her to school in the truck but you never know! i could get alot done in the next yr, lol!! anyways thanks for taking the time an posting i'm waiting to see some picture of what you did to your bumper!

In my 15 years of body work i have never used the butt weld clamps. Thought about it, but never bought any. ;)

ya, i didnt buy them either, my father-in-law gave them to me!! i didnt use the butt weld clamps, it was easier to feel the high and low spots when i was welding! one down an one to go! i still got a lil work to do like hammer down the edge with the brace and fold over the wheel lip, and i did make the drain hole bigger, anyways on to the pictures!!

Good job on that bench seat!! The sway bar looks like it was made for an armrest.

Waiting to see the gas tank install as I have been considering this mod as gas fumes are a little obnoxious in summer:lol:.....

Does the lower fender patch come with the lower portion of inner brace, or is that your original inner brace cleaned up nice?

Re: my '64 c-10 swb project with steel floor from a '70

protrash64- thanks, it will be a lil while before i get ready to install the gas tank, im trying to get the frontend back on! then i will install the gas filler plate in the bed! i'm still trying to figure what the other two plugs go to on the gas tank, that and i need to buy a sending unit for it! i only need to fix my rockers on the cab, but im going to cut out the seam where the firewall and floor meet just to make it look smoother and to not have it rot out later from water getting trapped!

alan- i got wiring harness, windsheild, weatherstripping, bbw glass, panel adhesive, and other odds and ends just to name a few! i like income tax time the wife lets me have 500-1000 to buy what i want besides what i spend through out the year which will pay for some of these things! im going to paint what i can and need to, then i have a cousin that will paint it for me an i know it would look good when done all i got to do is the bodywork, lol! he builds hotrods for a living, and has done paint/body and auto all my life!

lostmy65- no, i had to buy the inner fender bace and the fender patch seperate, then i took measurements of where the bolt hole was at then cut and grind til the new patches fit! then i welded the inner fender brace in and the fender patch! there a guy on youtube that has a 2 part video of cutting the fender brace and patch panel (mobilehotrodrepair) he has some other videos that have helped me learn! plus, i have learned alot of this site!!

ok guys heres a few things i have been doing, just haven't posted anything in a min. my lower rad. core support brace was usted pretty bad and very thin! so i went out bought so 1in. x 2in. c channel and cut it down to a 40in. piece took some measurements marked all my holes! then i had to grinded down the inside of the c channel in the corners cause its thinker and didnt want to fit tight like i was wanting it to! then i welded it in and bend the corners and welded everything up drilled my holes and painted it and it likes good as new!! i got my white gauge cluster faces and put them on, then i found out that you can get them done in any color and design you want you just got to pay extra! i got the speaker holes in the big window patch welded up and ready for me to put in the truck! i also got my other fender patch done! any ways on to the pictures!!
