Kyle,

After watching the progress of your truck I've been talking a Nathan about mine. Man he's a great guy to talk to and I think he knows just a tiny bit about what he's talking about.

I'll be going the Porterbuilt route with a 2wd conversion with a similar suspension as yours. Don't worry, it'll be nothing like yours except for the suspension.

Jason915,

Jeff Snyder is a smart man!!!

Re: Low 72 progress pics...

Kyle that is turning out real nice. The dash in my 71 project slow build had a bad run in with what looks like an Axe. I have been thinking about doing a statment with it but who knows. I first need to see if it still knows how to sit on its frame before I get to carried away.

UPDATE:

Nathan has most of the parts finally.. Backordered parts are not fun. The blazer is all wired and ready. I ordered a radiator from Mattsons Radiator in California. I should have everything over to Nathan sometime next week. I will post some pics ASAP..:metal:

Here's some pics of the motor and radiator installed. There have been a few inquiries about how an LS motor and Dropmember fit... here we go! The stock a/c compressor and bracket do not fit due to the rack and pinion and frame clearance. We went with a Street and Performance kit (the rest of the accessories will be updated at a later time... along with some type of forced induction:cool: )These motors are slightly larger than a traditional SBC, but since they have elctronic ignition and have no distributor they are able to fit closer to the firewall. Just like in the the trucks, the blazer needs the large hump in the floor for tranny bell housing clearance.

We were hoping to have it running for Kyle before Christmas... but ran into a fuel pressure problem... and ran out of time yesterday. Looks like Kyle will have to settler for a Happy New Year instead.

Here's some pics of the motor with and without the cover.

Re: Low 72 progress pics...

Nathan,
Those shots are exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for taking them.

Were there any other fit issues besides the a/c compressor? Where is that kit available from?

Man, that looks good in there. I can't wait to start on mine. Is Kyle going to stick with the cast headers or go with a tube header? It looks to be a nice fit with the stock ones. Will a tube header create any clearance problems.
The other post with the drop member in the C-10 has tube headers and I don't think there were any fit issues there so probably just whichever I want to use, right?

The cast headers will be changed over to a tube style at a later date. The Passenger side manifold fits nicley, but the driver's side has some clearance issues at the frame. The frame needs to be notched and then re-inforced for clearance. We will be starting on another Dropmember install on a 71 Blazer shortly. It too will have an LS motor. I have a couple different style of headers to try on it. It will be a Dropmember C4.:metal:

The SBC 350 in the C10 has tube headers that fit very nicely. The ones used on Dino's 66 are a Hooker 'universal shorty' for 60's- 94 SBC. I can post up the part number if wanted.

The a/c kit comes from Street and Performance... I am a dealer for them. They also sell the accessory kit for the alternator and p/s pump as well. A little on the spendy side, but very, very nice.
