Great work sick69! To me this also looks like a good idea if someone wants to build an extended cab truck to. You would get doors like newer extended cabs. Great thread!

Great thread and looks like a great job on the doors also, what year latches where they off of the jeep anyway? Allways wanted to do this myself someday.

Re: suicide doors

thanks guys.

the hinges are off of a mid 70s jeep grand wagoneer two door.
it has been rumored the the four door hinges don't open far enough(about 60 degrees instead of 90)

at the jy the other day I figured out what this rumor was all about.
the front doors of a four door open to 90 degrees or extremely close to it, the rear doors on a four door only open to about 60 degrees.

so for what I can tell the twp door model, the p/u, and the FRONT doors or a four door model should work for this. also it looked like a couple of early model international scouts had these same hinges(although I didn't pull any to compare)

the latches still need to go in and some clean up and bracing on both doors is all thats needed.

all in all it was pretty easy to do, and I found couple things I will do differently when I do it next time.

Looks good.

I am finally going to get my lazy @ss back to work on my truck. I haven't touched my cab other than to move it over in a year or more. I was involved in other projects...Do you have any clearance issues with the top hinge and the window channel? I had to go around the channel but I didnt use the Jeep hinges.

I haven't had any issues with the hinges getting in the way of anything. the top hinge sits right up against the window channel but doesn't interfear with it at all.

unfortuanatly the last post that showed progress is as far as i've gotten with it. my mom lost her battle with cancer a couple days ago, so it'll be a little bit before I get back to it.

Sorry to hear about your Mom. I'm not on the board alot but I can be reached via email if you have anything you want to discuss.
I did my latches a little differently than normal and I'm planning on using some corvette outside door handles under the dash to open the doors from the inside.

thanks,,,,,,,,,,,

handles under the dash could be an interesting option. still undecided about inside latches, but im thinking im going to shave the inside aswell
