on another note still not much of an update, but i got another passanger fender that needs a little work to replace the one that got messed up when 3 of my studs sheared off and 2 of my lug nuts backed off somehow:cuss:. also found some bondo covered rust in my pass. side roofabove the drip rail, and both of the lower side drip rails on the back by the hatch were rotted (damn pos previous body work by someone) so i cut those off for now. |
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

I dig those Caddy tail lights, very sweet mod. You up off of Highland? I think I have seen your truck driving around before...
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
your burb is sick. i love that you are that low with a static drop:metal:. how much drop do you think you got out of the "hacked" springs alone?
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
thanks Twitchin R&C. about 9" drop just with the springs, and im going to guess close to about a 12" drop total with what i got and have done. i can check the measurement from the ground to the wheel well arch in the morning. think i only have a total of 3 coils left in the rear.
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
Ok so if i remember right, the stock rear ride height is 34" from ground to wheel arch and my measurement is 22.5", so thats a total of a 11.5" drop in the rear. and it can still go lower lol.
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
sweet. thanks
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
How did you hack the rear springs, they are tapered? Just curious how they are hangin on is all. I like it that low...now get the front to match!

Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
your springs don't move while just sitting on your ta? I would be nervouse to drive around like that!
|
Re: The '67 Burb Build Thread
i dont know im not sure, but they probably do move at least a little. this set has been cut for over a year, i just cut more off to go lower. the other set i had on their when i got it that i cut were cut for over a year as well. i have drove it on the freeway quite a bit with cut springs and was never nervous about it. i have only drove it around the block since its been this low in the back, so we will see how it rides, drives, and reacts to it being this low.
