any thoughts or suggestions for the ac system? Also i am looking for a polished sanden compressor and some kind of mounting bracket that will allow for lower motor mounting of the compressor. like in the area that a mechanical fuel pump would go. I am haveing no luck finding suck a bracket. I can go either short or long waterpump to make this happen. |
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
That's one bad ass truck! Have to agree with everyone else, really diggin' the paint color as well. Subscribed, can't wait to see the progress on this one.

Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
Nice job man! I like the paint!
|
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
No idea for the ac bracket...but if you've done this much work on your own i'd say you have the skill to make one....have you looked into an aftermarket under the dash kit for the ac...I think they offer up the compressor and all, but if I'm not mistaken they are kinda pricey.

On top of that they are far too "urban" for my taste they were just cheap as ****. If i measured right i can run a 22-24 combo. One day when I'm done with the rest I might be able to save the money for some. Or pay some random crack head to boost some for me.... Use those locking nuts friends! |
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics

|
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
Yes he was, the pictures above were deemed inappropriate for a family oriented website. It's a 48 hour ban.

Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
I saw the pics, but not any worse than all the drinking and dirty jokes that we normally post. Anyone who has had a Tahoe joke can relate. Not to mention the original posts were posted back in January, and action is just now being taken.
Hope it ain't for long, this is a badass build |
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
Yeah, it's only 48 hours. I found out while I was talking in the chat room, the subject of this build came up and what action was taken as a result.

Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
I apologize to 67-72chevytrucks.com if I am the one who brought this thread back out. I did not realize that they were suspended. I just loved the build so much that I did not notice.
|
Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
It's not your fault, they got suspended as a result of something they did, not what you did. I do have to say though, the build is a really good one, it's going to be a great looking truck.

is there any progress on this

Re: Bagged, blown and painted 72/67-clip LWB progress pics
Hey hey all! I thought I was banned for good till I started getting emails that my thread was being replied to!
Yeah I was banned b/c my painter friend had half of his "butt crack" showing like you might find on "family friendly" broadcast television. But I digress. Not much progress lately. I was kicking around the idea of a body drop and decided I would take it to the doors after I have driven it a while. I am ready to rape some pavement. As far as progress I have secured a 454 motor and have been building it up to swap in after the inevitable destruction of my small block. (I’m real hard on motors). We finished the last round of bodywork on the bed this weekend. The bed should be going to paint this weekend. I have gotten a painless wiring kit and will be taking extensive pictures and making a separate thread for that install to help some people out. Should be in the next two weeks. I will be integrating all the airbag wiring into the harness through the bulkhead should be a nice clean install. I have been having trouble getting my steering right. Since the sectioning of the cross member when I set the toe of the vehicle at ride height (a hair off the ground) everything is fine. When I air it up, it toe's out to such an extreme that the tires try to kill the fenders. I am now realizing that I need to raise the idler arm and the steering gear up 1.5" to match the sectioned x-member. Or Buy a cross member from suicide doors. The advantage to this is it will allow for a bolt on rack and pinion, center the wheels in the wheel wells. I didn’t even realize that they were off till I read this feature. And finally narrow the front wheel spread by 3", thus giving me more steering when laid out. All that said I will be selling my x-member, control arms, engine mounts and all brand-new steering components For cheap within the next month. Pictures to come. Since my last post I have started doing DJ work at car shows making a little extra money. If you need a DJ at your car show in Texas or a surrounding state let me know. We www.murderhilldj.com are starting a "Hip-Hop free car show" campaign playing mostly reggae/dub, metal, and rockabilly with a splash of country and have had great results. Our first major show was Gatordrag car and truck show. We will be playing at Setting Trends (battle drag tour) show the 16th. |

As for the in-cab part I am using the rear A/C unit from a 84 suburban. I am putting the whole unit behind the glovebox door under the dash shouldnt be visable at all. there will be two vents that dump on the passanger side floorboard and possibly one that will blow out of the glovebox when opened. I was thinking that a properly insulated single cab should cool down pretty quickly. I didnt want to cut my dash up for A/c ball vents. so it seemed like a good ideah. time will be the tell. Also i will be sellig the dealer option under the dash add-on A/c system i wont be using. its in pretty good shape. |
