This is why GM parts are nice to have, note they are not even tacked in place . :mm:

Re: 68 project
Todays plan is to begin cutting out the inner rocker rust and kick panels, I am also going to have to repair the door pillars. I will be ordering a pair of pillars from Nsane today so I can keep this project on a roll. :mm:

Re: 68 project
I am lucky enough to live up the street from this awesome build and get to stop by and see it from time to time when I pick up parts. Shop is AWESOME and so is Larry. Glad to know him and share the same hobby. He is way more advanced than I and have learned a lot from him.

Re: 68 project
Cant beat new toys and family swinging by to help. Ordered me some rust treatment stuff from Eastwood and couple other things to paint up engine compartment while motor is out. Yours is really coming along.

About to get the bottom side finished up, all the floor patches and door pillars are welded in now drivers rocker is installed. Today I painted the whole bottom side with POR 15' now I am thinking about spraying the bottom with rhino liner to protect and help with sound barrier and vibration.

Re: 68 project
just got a chance to go threw your build nice work real nice i wish i had your talent with TIG i have another question when you laid betty on her back on that hoist you weren't worried about scratching or denting her back?
I'm staying in for the ride see who gets to the finish line first ...ha ha |

Betty was laid down very carefully and as far as scratching it there is no paint on her so nothing to scratch right now, I just sand blasted it a few weeks ago. We don't move it around to much anyways, I should be done with the cab in a few weeks and I can prime her out and set it to the side and get back to concentrating on getting the frame on the ground and rolling again. I am in for the ride my friend ;) I have another project right behind this one I hope to start on next spring some time which is my other build thread :chevy: |
