I sure she would if it came out looking anything like this one.

Hmmm the last time he posted anything was back in January. I would like to know if that is original GM medium blue?? he mentions it would be medium blue, so I'm assuming its an original color, but most of the ones I've seen medium blue or Hawaiian blue are a little lighter than this. I love the color either way!! So much so I'd like to know the paint code and brand he used.

Once again thanks for the compliments!

Sorry guys, got sidelined building a new shop and house.
I don't expect to touch it again until we move it to the new shop late this year.

The color is PPG Voodoo Blue, with GM white.
Voodoo Blue is the color on the new Toyota Land cruisers, so you can see their two tone to get an idea.
It really pops in the sun, and I think it is the prettiest of my three.

If I can get back what I have in it, it is for sale.
But of the three, it is a favorite behind 67 SWB 4x4, the 67 has A/C.........

I do need an extra hood for this truck.

About time to start working on it again.

X2!!!! This build set the standard that I plan to reach with our 68', not to mention, I'm taking some inspiration from it in terms of color choice. I love the voodoo blue, and it is exactly what I originally had in my minds eye for the truck!

So the truck is for your daughter, very nice. I am not a blue fan but that is a good choice, nice build, I especially like that you left it a 6 cylinder. I am building my twin girls a 64 Fairlane 500 Sport coupe starting in the spring, hope to have them chip in a bit too.

Re: "Road Toad" 70 SWB S/Side

Is the "Toad" squashed??

Conroe trucker 07-14-2012 07:09 PM

Re: "Road Toad" 70 SWB S/Side

Naw not squashed!
Started working on it again this weekend.
Was going to move it to the new shop, but decided to finish it in the old one cause there is too much to move.
Hung the lights and bumper on the bed, and radiator support on the front.

Big 4x4 stuff/sale/trade/ give away.
If you live near Houston let me know, customal@flash.net.
I will be posting on the forum soon.

It's things like this that really add to any project. This wip is really special, I like that you are going with the six. The bed is a great work of art. This rig will be the living envy of any civilized neighbourhood;)

I hate to say it but I am putting it up for sale.
I will move it and the 67 to the "for sale" section.

Bummer! Why are you deciding to sell them, not a divorce I hope? Sell the C5 instead and keep these two!

Are the short fleetside bed or stepside fenders still for sale?

Road Toad lives.

This weekend after sitting seven years in the shop, Road Toad was rolled out and washed down top to bottom.

Took awhile, but we have decided to finish it.
Original plans were for my daughter to get it her senior year of high school.
Now we are shooting for her Masters graduation......6 months.

Pictures to follow.
