I used a Rustoleum pro gray primer and a flat black enamel after hours of cleaning and wire brushing also a wire wheel on my grinder then cleaned it with wax & grease remover.

This project looks great! Can't wait to see the final product.

Although, I can't believe you're working in the shop with sandals. A friend of mine worked in his shop like that everyday until a motor stand tipped over...He ended up with about 9 pins sticking out of his toes and foot.

You got it. I cut the frame for the rack notch's, tacked the notch's to a piece of angle on a flat surface to keep them true while welding them in. Then primed and painted frame. Next few days i will be bolting on the front kit. Its not that hot compared to what nate's going through in Mesa..

Ahhhhhhh ... don't wory about the footwear .... My favorite welding shoes are a pair of "CROC" flip-flops. I've got more burns in my ankle foot area from slag & aluminum that I care to count. Now ... it hits my foot & bounces off. Very little damage.

Keep up the good work.

Do it, if you don't its like buying new shoes and using your old laces. They are top notch products, you won't be disappointed. Perfect fit & finish:metal:

VERY NICE! That silver looks good for a rattle can! Not like Mexican Chrome! What size drop spindle and brakes come with that kit? Are the rotors 5 or 6 lug? Again VERY NICE!

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

Thanks, It's all in the prep. I'm happy with it also, i didn't want that okie chrome look, and this has a nice silver simi-gloss that looks good in person. It seems to be durable also, i have dinged it a couple times and no chips.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

Converted the stock column steering shaft to a 3/4 DD. It turned out great with no slop and a tight fit.

I'm running a 3/4DD-3/4DD to 3/4DD-9/16 26spl. on the FR1503 manual rack.

Ah .... the ass-end. If it turns out as well & as clean as the front .... I building one of these too!!

You guessing on the steering right now or have you mocked up a block, head & exhaust??

Nice job so far.

Re: 1963 C10 SWB Big Window Build

I'm good on the block & head. With the headers i might have to make some room. I have Flowtech's that dump in the rear.

Thanks
